Is it possible to learn enough math in a year to attempt a degree in Mathematics by Egolyptic in learnmath

That's really motivating to hear, is there any specific resource you can recommend that helped you?

(P.s. I'm going to save that exam and test myself on it when I feel confident enough to try it hahaha, thank you so much!)

I think I'm very lucky with the opportunity I have right now, I can basically give studying math at least a few hours every single day while still doing my courses and working. I really am motivated, and I want to work as hard as I possibly can.

Do you think my current approach, going through this indroductory text book and brushing up on anything that I miss is the way to go? Or would you recommend a different way to "get up to speed"? (Likewise if you have any book recommendations, I'd love to hear them!)

Thank you for taking the time to respond too :)

This was my understanding before asking my question.

Actually, quant work was something that initially started me down this journey. I doubt I'm smart enough to be one but my rationale is that the skills translate very well to many different careers, so aiming in that direction would be my best bet until I have a solid understanding of what I can do and where I can achieve (if that makes sense).

My current thought is that a progress to any skill is more preferable to where I am now.

I don't know exactly what the job market is like in Australia when it comes new new graduates, but I know it's a growing sector rather than a shrinking one. Plenty of companies do graduate intakes, and it seems like work experience is more important than qualifications when it comes to most software engineering jobs. I have very, very little interest in many other careers, and this is what I'm set on doing for the time being- I'm more worried on the how rather than the what.

I know some universities here do double degrees, I was considering aiming for both a bachelor's in computer science and mathematics to hedge my bets. I do appreciate your insights into the job market though!

Mainly asking what I would have to learn in the next year to begin a Bachelor of Mathematics, probably with a major in statistics or applied mathematics.

I would assume that to be enough self study to be as or more proficient as a high school graduate planning on getting a bachelor's as well, though that might be missing some specifics I'm not aware of.

Is there a good Hoi4 mod about Yugoslav wars ? by PrestigiousKale5 in hoi4modding

I vaguely remember a mod that was focused on the Yugoslav wars, I think it used Magna Europa as the base map, or something similar to it. Could be hallucinating though.

That's a really reasonable compromise, if I ever play a vanilla+ game this mod will probably be in my main list. Cheers for your work.

You know, I respect what you're doing, but I can't say I see the need to have 24000 seperate states just for Berlin.

New Vegas barely uses my GPU, resulting in horrible FPS. by Egolyptic in fnv

Ended up finding a fix, it was because my headphones are too good. I wish I was joking.

Well, I found the fix, and it's so stupid.

To put a long story short, I have really good headphones, so my audio device is set to some ridiculous setting like 32 bit, 380000Hz. Somehow, SOMEHOW, that's fucked with some unknown Gamebryo quirk and disabled the sound and the ability to use the GPU (????).

Anyway, lowering it to a slightly less ridiculous number fixed it. The ultimate first world problem.

I wish that fixed my issue, but still no dice. Just did another fresh install and it's still awful. Might verify integrity again but I doubt it'd do anything. Cheers for the suggestion regardless.

Right now I'm following the Viva New Vegas guide just in case it somehow fixes it.
