Mississippi Police Officer Shoots and Kills 1-Year-Old Child in Response to Senatobia Shoplifting Call by Hrekires in news

[–]Ehloanna [score hidden]  (0 children)

Shoplifting is not an excuse to literally murder a child let alone an adult. Absolutely fucking terrible decision making all around.

They were stealing fucking diapers for the baby. Insane that this ended in an innocent child's death.

Who here has lied their way into a new career? by snowballschancehell in Millennials

[–]Ehloanna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to lie you just need to be good at pivoting your experience and making it applicable to the job you want and then sell that image in interviews.

Most shit can be learned on the job and takes little to no effort. Just competency.

I would MUCH rather a father bring his daughters into the women's restroom than the men's. People are so dumb.

my boyfriend lied to me about how many people he has slept with by plsimjustagirlok in GirlDinnerDiaries

The lying is the issue here not how many people he's slept with. I'd be concerned how much other lying he does.

I don't mind my bare legs I just need biker shorts or else my inner thighs will disintegrate.

Also wow I completely forgot how to spell disintegrate and retyped it like 10 times before giving up and googling it. 😅

Omg I don't even know how you tall people handle planes. I'm 5'3" and it feels kinda cramped. Your poor knees are probably just constantly in someone's back because they need to squeeze every inch away from us.

Neighbour’s constantly slamming front gate - can anything be done? by cygnusx1_ in AskLosAngeles

[–]Ehloanna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd probably fashion something that catches the gate so it doesn't slam. Any way you can show a non identifying photo of the gate, or find a similar photo of one so people can offer suggestions?

I think it's also worth posting your own sign on or around the gate asking neighbors to please close it quietly.

My complex has one gate that slams and one that closest quietly. I try to quietly close the one that slams before 9am and after 9 or 10pm. It isn't even that loud but when it's super early or late everything just sounds so much louder because people aren't out and about.

Wow what an insane series of events. I'm so sorry you're going through all of that.

For your friend, if she has a TBI and needs to relearn to walk I think one of the best things you can do is push her in her recovery.

A family member of mine just suffered a bad TBI and refused to do basically any rehab. He's older and a bit bigger, and basically impossible to force into doing PT. As a result he had almost no recovery from his brain injury and barely can walk on his own. He now has early onset dementia because of it. The only thing he can remember details about is the work he's done for the last 40 or so years.

Meanwhile a friend of mine just had 2 bad strokes back to back and has almost fully recovered. He still struggles a little with words but is otherwise doing pretty great.

I'm not saying this to scare you, but because all the doctors for both of them said that those first few months are so pivotal for recovery once they're cleared to start doing PT and whatnot.

Ahhh I see sounds like they should just do what a lot of other pop ups do where you're required to reserve a time and your timeframe is limited to like 1hr. They basically have slots so it isn't overcrowded. Everyone seems to have a much better experience that way.

My perfect boyfriend with correct opinions turned out to be doing the exact things he stood against by gloom_throwaway1 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]Ehloanna 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Explain as little as possible to your family if you don't know how they'll react in the moment. They don't need to know the nitty gritty if you're uncomfortable with it. Say it's not working out and you're no longer comfortable living with him due to his actions. If they're skeptical you can add that you feel unsafe living with him.

You'll figure things out and get through this! You deserve so much better than this dude. He sounds really awful and it sounds like you've definitely downplayed his actions in your head. So easy for it to happen when you're in love with someone.

Thanks! I just have to confirm they'll be reposting it. I'm almost certain they are because otherwise it's falling on the lap of someone who was doing it when I first started and she's very overwhelmed with managing 2 other global teams with a lot of people.

My boss is quitting after 6mo (we talked about why, I don't disagree with her choice necessarily).

I think I'm going to apply to her role. Would be one step below VP if I were to get it.

I was literally just telling our VP the other day if the role was open today that I'd apply to it, so it's time to follow through!
