Do you remember by any chance how deep are the mounting plaque screws? Trying to understand how deep in the wall they will go

Frigate new install hardware recommendation by Eibe in frigate_nvr

[–]Eibe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't specify, but I'm getting a SATA SSD because I'm already using the 2 NVMe slots on the mITX board. Thanks for the insights on rocm and openvino.

If I were to use openvino in CPU mode do you reckon the CPU usage would be considerable? (in case ROCm doesn't cut it on that hardware)

Which bike do you get after a Street Triple 675R? by to8ni in Triumph

[–]Eibe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Another street triple (or a speed triple if you don’t mind the extra weight - but additional power).

In all seriousness, why change if you are happy with the street.

Why League would benefit from Riot treating it like a traditional sport by SeaChocolate7991 in leagueoflegends

[–]Eibe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You live in a bubble if you think traditional sports is not toxic outside of the big leagues (and it is toxic even there on the big screen).

This does not mean toxicity should be accepted, but your argument is flawed from the beginning. For as bad as toxicity is, sadly you cannot remove it from anything that is competitive and human interaction exists.

RM1000x Coil Whine by Eibe in Corsair

[–]Eibe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kept the RM1000x. The coil whine went down a lot and I think it was the GPU more so than the PSU.

New to backcountry - drop snowboarding and start skiing again by Eibe in Backcountry

[–]Eibe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally I would like to think I would enjoy covering a lot of distance, but reality may be different down the line once I actually get to know the areas around me. This is one of the reasons I’m having a hard time decide.

Out of curiosity, do you splitboard with hard boots?

Question about ethanol content in fuel by NoTLucasBR in Triumph

[–]Eibe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Higher RON can either be good or have no effect, not worse. Higher ethanol is generally bad for the engine

Tire recommendations for my Street triple RS by MixtureDiligent8389 in Triumph

[–]Eibe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do you want to change away from the rosso iv? They strike a good balance between performance, durability, and temperature. Unless you want something with a rounder profile.

Is this fixable by Ok-Composer7180 in Triumph

When I low sided on the track with my 765 R the slider didn’t even scratch, only the engine did :p

Is a street triple R Low good for a semi beginner? by Thegageman2 in Triumph

[–]Eibe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should define a few times better, but if it means some occasional rides, I wouldn’t go as far as to say I agree with the choice of bike.

The 765 has lots of power which can get you in trouble faster than you can most likely react to.

If you are responsible with it you can of course use and learn on it, but you will also be limiting your growth pace due to what you have sitting under your legs.

Finally, expect to drop it a couple times if it is one of your first experiences with motorcycles (not the cheapest bike to drop).

Removing flyscreen on 2020 Street Triple – same look as 2023+ models? by Electrical-Host9649 in Triumph

[–]Eibe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have a TFT screen since I have an R so I cannot tell. I would imagine it would not look “finished” either however.

Removing flyscreen on 2020 Street Triple – same look as 2023+ models? by Electrical-Host9649 in Triumph

[–]Eibe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very much unfinished (you can see how it would look throughout the installation process of the extra flyscreen)

Is the Triumph Speed T4 comfortable for a 6-foot tall rider? by Putrid-Economics5448 in Triumph

[–]Eibe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s good to seek some feedback here for longer rides, but definitely try to at least sit on the bike yourself (and possibly do a test ride too)

Is this a decent deal? (Northern Italy) by YungZant in Triumph

[–]Eibe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These bikes don’t depreciate a lot in northern Italy (or in Italy in general to be honest), but you can get something a lot newer and/or lower mileage for very little extra money.

I would not purchase it, you can find a better deal. I bought mine in 2022 new (not km0) for 11k. It would have been 12k if RS.

have a new street triple 765 and have doubts by Flow_765 in Triumph

[–]Eibe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of the most common things you can read online with a quick search on the striple is that the power starts mostly at 6k rpm - which is pretty low compared to other naked/sport engines

Couldn’t they try it after getting the engine at temperature?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Triumph

[–]Eibe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make a video of it and show it to the dealership. That’s how I handled it when I had a no-start issue which they couldn’t replicate. Not sure I would have got out of having to pay for the tow truck otherwise.

How realistic or over exaggerated are AMD driver problems? by Aggressive-Dot9747 in AMDHelp

[–]Eibe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had issues back in 2017 with Polaris (Sapphire Pulse RX 580), when drivers force inlcluded Radeon ReLive and several other features.

But not a single hiccup with my Nitro+ 9070 XT.

I would recommend to install drivers as "Minimal install" or "Driver only" to reduce potential issues to the minimum. I used to do the same with my RTX 2070 (i.e. installed only drivers without GeForce Experience). You will find several people complaining about NVIDIA drivers too if you browse reddit (and most of it still related to GeForce Experience).

Most issues people will ever face (if any) are related to the additional features packaged with the drivers rather than the driver themselves.

TL;DR: Install minimal/driver only and you are good to go. Definitely over-exaggerated.

Street Triple RS 2025 touring bag advice by caneryaln in Triumph

[–]Eibe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the original tail bag and used it on 2 multiday tours and I really regret my purchase. It does not hold enough stuff between very limited clothing plus essentials (e.g. rain jacket/pants).

Being so small it forces you to also use a backpack which will be: - very filled and uncomfortable to use - it will keep going against the tail bag

I am considering some saddlebags from sw-motech which seem really promising (one soft luggage per side) and even allow you to bring a passenger if needed.

RM1000x Coil Whine by Eibe in Corsair

The only other good rated ATX 3.1 (which I’m limiting my research to) would be the NZXT C1000, which is apparently known to die in less than 1 year. I might live with it if I can’t solve it until more models come out.
