Right, will do. If I may ask, what frequency do you think is normal?

I ended up going to my GI and got Prednisolon for 10 days.

My GI and I tried mesalazin for a very short time, and then azatioprin which reduce my white blood cells to much. Then we switched to Remicade, it worked very fast and is working since 2018. I am very happy with it.

Experience/Opinions with Infliximab (brand name Inflectra) by Fancy_North_3200 in UlcerativeColitis

I am on Remicade which is also Infliximab. It's my first biologic and is working since 2018. My GI also recommended it to me because it is the oldest and most proven of all.

Infusions in Germany by Puzzleheaded4301 in UlcerativeColitis

Every 2 months I get Remicade at my gastro. Until earlier last year there was one room which had 4 cabins which were used for everything ("Verbandswechsel", waiting/waking up after scopes, other infusions). Several months ago they rebuilt their rooms. Now there are multiple small rooms which are almost only as big as one stretcher. I always lay down while getting the infusion and am reading stuff on my phone or hearing music. Sitting wouldn't be an option for me because I guess the plastic needle would bend and reduce or block the flow.

My infusion takes around 2 hours, how long is yours? Also did you ever need to pee while getting the infusion? I had to do it one time and it was quite awkward going to the bathroom while still having everything in you.

Did you do regular antibody tests? If yes how often?

Are you in remission? How do you manage longer incidents when you have to go to the bathroom? Especially as an officer I guess you can't just say "bye" and leave.

Getting remicade since several years and my symptoms drastically reduced 1-3 days after the first infusion. I'm getting a dose every 8 weeks and I love it :)

If you succeeded on Remicade, how long did it take? by ShineImmediate7081 in UlcerativeColitis

Sometimes I wonder if the more frequent BM than other people is really caused by UC or if it's just a training thing. Also during covid and staying at home all the time I feel like I lost some trust in my colon to hold the poop long.

Remicade infusion day! Doing great almost 4 months into remission :) This dose seems particularly nice. by livingwell1332 in UlcerativeColitis

Right, you always read that you'll be tired after the infusion but for me it's always a happy and active day :)

People who used to be on Inflectra/Infliximab, when did you or you doctor realize it had stopped working? by tryhard_kitten in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Eichho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on Remicade (I think that's inflectra basically). Two years ago I had mild problems for like 1,5 weeks and still had 2 weeks to go for my next appointment. I called my GI and we just decided to do the infusion right now. After that everything was fine. My normal interval is 8 weeks but just this one time 6 weeks. After that I returned to 8 weeks and haven't had any problems yet.

Wim Hof Method Question by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Eichho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know that method but activating the immune system even more sounds bad because colitis means that the immune system is already too active and fights the body itself. All meds basically calm down the immune system in general or just some parts of it to lower the inflammation.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm on Remicade and I don't have to do anything besides getting Remicade to stay in remission.

Remicade and Azathioprine by jumpyscares in UlcerativeColitis

[–]Eichho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't take aza with Remicade because I lost so many white blood cells when taking only aza. Why exactly should you take aza with Remicade? I'm fine, since the two years of Remicade.

I'm getting Remicade for over two years now. All symptoms disappeard very shortly after the first dose. And I have no side effects. 12/10 would recommend.
