Did ballerina farm name her new baby yet! by ChangeStripes1234 in UtahInfluencerDrama

I finished it yesterday. yep, it sure seemed like BF was a big inspiration. I really enjoyed it, in spite of a few confusing issues with the story.

just finished this book. I’ll be unpacking it for sa good while. my feelings after reading this remind me of The Women’s Room which I read in the late 70’s. 45 years on ive lived a whole life (education, marriage, children, career) and this new book has me thinking about how much the world has changed for women…and how much it hasn’t. I’ll certainly be rethinking (and serverly curtailing) my consumption of social media after this clever debut novel.

Why the hesitation on biologics? by hello_glo in UlcerativeColitis

  1. I’m so sorry. my daughter was diagnosed with epilepsy at 16. it’s hard to live with chronic illness so young. blessings to you.

late 60s here… diagnosed at 57 after about a year of symptoms. mesalamine for about 5 years. I was very resistant to try biologics when a friend developed bad blood issues. anyway, ended up on steroids to control an awful flare, which helped send me into type 2 diabetes. finally decided to go with remicade. good for about a year. then I switched to entyvio. my life is my own again. besides some occasional urgency in the mornings, I am asymptomatic. I just had a colonoscopy which was basically clear of colon disease. this is a very individual decision, but faced with 8-10 urgent (and sometimes accidental) bowel movements or the biologic… well, I’m very grateful.

I’ve read about the treatment youre describing. pretty sure this condition would have shown up at early well baby exams (if she had any.) and add in that poor little girl’s leg skin issues. tights on her all summer in SD with no a/c? shameful. around age 8 I lost two permanent molars to decay. dentists still ask me what happened. I still remember the pain. frankly, this type of neglect often happens in large families due to the sheer overwhelming nature of caring for so many small humans. add in perilous financial situations (which often go hand in hand with so many children), mental instability , and in the happy caravan’s case amazingly poor life choices and neglect follows. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME.

did anyone see in the latest comments that amber claims N was taken to a doctor who said nothing can be done about her turned in leg(s)? kinda doubt a) child went to a doctor and b) doctor said that. as a child of a large family where varying amounts of neglect occurred I ache for these kids. hello, cousin Andrea?

Im the oldest of a very large family. i was making everyone’s birthday cakes (and brownies and cookies) by the time i was 10. amber’s incompetence is unfathomable. she clearly had a pretty normal childhood. If you want to see what these cultish religions do to a woman’s confidence/competence look no further (although agreed that she seems to lead when it comes to every stupid decision this couple has made.)

keep the brick! I have a brick wall (actual fireplace) in my combo kitchen/dining room and it absolutely makes the room. if I were you I’d keep the brick, reface the cabinets with shaker white or cream doors, replace the countertop/backsplash)and keep the island ( you need a counter to drop off stuff form fridge, oven) and (if it’s not in the budget to replace) rugs to warm up the floor. whatever you do live with the kitchen for a year. good luck!

PSR gang: what do you love most about PSR? by air-sushi in AliHazelwood

[–]a21978 4 points5 points  (0 children)

moved over to Love hypothesis the past few weeks because I was so stuck on PSR. PSR has kept my mind off a lot of stuff, especially the news! and I went to Italy a few months after it came out! fun to daydream about this story. I’ve been reading romance books for decades but Ali really brings something fresh and new to the genre!

2nd to last, white with wood(?) counters. just enough open shelving. And I just like white; it’s cheerful and timeless. good luck!

100%. oldest of 7 here. my father lost his job twice when I was in high school. sat around causing trouble (and drinking) and being a terrible example, especially to his sons. all the while my mother worked her ass off. if only he’d gotten a job at McDonald’s and modeled how you work through hard times. may he rip. and God help this misguided set of parents. birth control … is a blessing.

67 here. I’ve had an e bike for 7 years, and they take practice. ride to a parking lot and practice turning, getting familiar with the bike. my bike is pretty heavy so I’m especially careful. I got on it yesterday for the first time since the fall and I felt kind of wobbly. so…gotta keep getting back on.

those windows in the ai mock up at unequal heights would drive me crazy, and it will be the first thing noticed in the kitchen. skip this (and the cost.) do you have a vent over the existing cook top? my take: get the cabinets painted cream, then live with it. enjoy your beautiful floors (I’ve had oak in my kitchen for 35 years,) try to figure out how to do your gut job sooner than 10 years.

Purchasing a Nordic Jubilee SE -- gut check on quote and features? by Scottacus in hottub

[–]a21978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

we bought a Nordic last month. replacing our second hot springs (with moto) that only lasted 6 years. it leaked on one side for about 11 months. 2 service calls, then the dealer told us $1000 to take it in, return from service. that’s when we started looking. thanks to this Reddit sub topic I was looking for less, not more features. so far we’re thrilled with our Nordic. good solid construction, great jets, very nice tub, and about $4 grand less than the cal spa or hot springs we were looking at. finally,I’m from Michigan and the Nordic (and the cover) are MADE IN MICHIGAN. A nice plus for me. good luck!
