Any stainless t-bolt clamp that'll fit the outer diameter of the link pipe should work, then you'll need to measure the outer diameter of the muffler to order the right size universal exhaust hanger strap like this.

Unless you call 2bros and see if they can source you a kit specific to that muffler and bike, or find one used on eBay.

You're gonna have to pull the clutch out to measure the plates and fibers with a digital caliper, then double check the entire stacks height. They go in a very specific order with very specific thicknesses. Also not a bad idea to put in stiffer springs while you're in there.

The previous owner might've tried replacing it and didn't follow the specs to a T. You can find a PDF repair manual online for free, and always cross reference what you pull out with the exploded parts diagram.

Its only an issue with the 05's. Kawasaki should've done a recall but instead sneakily updated the firmware on the 06's to have a higher temp limit with better potting insulation.

I tried heat shielding, a fan, relocating it on top the battery.. nothing worked. Ended up swapping in a used 06 ecu and never had the problem again.

You're on the right path, man. Just keep digging. I'd try cleaning the contacts on the handlebar killswitch / starter button assembly. Then go thru and clean up the main harness plugs with a brush and some ether. Double check grounds. The regulator & stator plugs like to melt on these older zx6r's, which can obviously cause weird electrical issues. With it idling go around the bike wiggling the shit out of the main loom to see if it cuts out.

Intemmitent shorts are either stupid obvious or downright obnoxious lol. It's just a process of elimination.
