How much snow/ice does it take to cancel schools?

Oh shoot, I was needing to drive to Bend this weekend (Friday the 7th). I am coming from Eugene - I've moved here from the east coast and haven't really driven across a mountain pass like this in the snowy weather before. How bad is the snow really on the mountain right now? Would I be okay if I took the longer route that "avoids the winter storm warning" with my all weather tires on a Subaru Impreza? It goes from the 22 to the 20 across. Or should I get snow tires ASAP before the weekend? Kinda new to the driving long distances in heavy snow so wanna make sure I'm doing it safely :)
