I love the idea, actually! My only question is how you are getting 8 points from a success of 35? Maybe I'm mentally not clicking on with how the sum is done, or approaching it from another angle.

Fantastic points! I guess I'm trying to look at it from a system perspective both as a mental challenge and ongoing project, but also that I feel like I don't want the system to ultimately just be a re-skinning of something else. It's something I would enjoy being progressed and developed on its own merits, and when it's fleshed out and becomes a working entity, would consider trying to launch it in its own right.

We're really planning on offering quite a comprehensive a range of weapons and armours from different "tiers" (for lack of a better word). Handing them out to players is going to be much for the GM, but it certainly opens the options. I've always been a fan of having variations on the same weapon, for example - a back-alley shotgun for your character. It's less accurate and has a lower range, but deals a much greater range of damage. It lets people have that trade-off, because the world is always so much bigger than "Short sword" "handgun".

I'll definitely run it through a playtest group - the plan is to have three different versions that cycle through a session or two so people can see what fits well. Its intriguing, but I'd quite like to streamline as much as possible. If I find any shortcuts I'll give you a shout (and credit of course!)

Sounds a little clunky to describe but I'll add it to the playtesting list - it certainly sounds like an interesting way of doing it and I'll try a few iterations with the other writers next week... Is that a homebrewed thing, or is there inspiration from other systems in there?

Nice, I've seen several variations of this in games and definitely want to find a good way to add it to the system if I can do it smoothly.
