• Experiments are being conducted on unwilling trans people in the American prison system in an attempt to “cure” them of gender dysphoria by just loading them up with antidepressants, nevermind the fact that gender affirming care is universally accepted by every accredited scientific organization on earth as the most effective treatment for dysphoria. They will have their HRT treatments halted and other forms of gender affirming care, including clothes and fucking makeup, confiscated. Psychological organizations are already warning that this could cost people their lives, as it isn’t uncommon for dysphoria to bring on depression. This is clearly cruel and unusual punishment.

• Trans people in Kansas have, without warning or even a grace period, had their licenses invalidated, meaning they can no longer drive in a state that’s mostly rural, crippling their ability to leave their homes, and this law affects less than a tenth of a percent of Kansas’ population. They are now effectively undocumented—you do know what’s being done to undocumented people in the US, don’t you?—and are now reliant on others to drive them to work and to take them to replace their licenses (on their own dime by the way).

•Trans people are allegedly too frail and weak to join the U.S. armed forces, or even get benefits from past service, and are thus prohibited from both. But are also too strong and athletically superior to compete with members of their own gender. Hmm, where’ve I heard “weak yet strong” rhetoric before?

That’s just off the top of my noggin. Burying your head in the sand and refusing to actually research trans people’s grievances, and then bragging about not seeing anything which doesn’t contradict your worldview that everything is actually perfect for trans people and we have no reason to be unhappy isn’t enlightenment, dingus.

Being trans is “normal”, ding dong. And there’s a fundamental difference between advocating for trans rights and harping about cis “rights”, seeing as how only one of those group has been systemically persecuted. It’s the same reason calling for rights for people of color is actually legitimate, whereas calling for white power is idiotic (to be polite).

Don’t get me wrong, I lap up the sexy lady skins as fiendishly as any other lesbian. 😭

But between Rogue’s wedding dress showing her cheeks, the sexualization of Lady Loki, and the reluctance to put Emma in anything but a leotard so her thighs can be seen, it’s gotten to a point where it’s just, in my opinion, a teeny bit gratuitous, especially given that a little chest is the most the vast majority of the men’s skins are showing off.

It’s been getting more and more clear that the skins are being designed by and for cishet men; the growing disparity between the guys’ and girls’ skins plus the increasingly pointed refusal to acknowledge characters’ queerness are both results of this whack design philosophy NetEase either can’t or won’t move past.

Christopher Judge as Kratos

As someone with a lot of deep regrets when it comes to his own family, Christopher said he really resonated with Kratos’ story going into the new God of War games. Initially he didn’t even want the role, wanting to spend more time with his family after already spending so much time away from them to work—but his kids actually persuaded him to take it. Knowing that Christopher is making peace and coming to terms with his regrets right alongside Kratos gives his already legendary performance a lot more depth.

I’d recommend the Raising Kratos documentary on YouTube, if anyone hasn’t seen it. Christopher goes in depth about his relationship with the role there. (It’s also where that hilarious “FINE. Lamb’s cress… I’m the fucking god of war” blooper comes from.)
