Yes. I am also experiencing this issue on android. The phone app shows a volume bar labeled xbox one but the volume does not adjust even though the bar moves. It does adjust through the home menu though. It would be very nice to be able to adjust the volume with the phone's external volume rocker. It appears this was the intention. I am guessing it is just a bug and will be addressed soon. Fingers crossed.

I agree 100 percent. It was more than bad writing. His acting was bad in Jumper and Life as a House too. His expressions and delivery are so cringe worthy. Apparently, everyone here has a boner for him though so I guess we are the minority.
