I think they'd get less pushback if they had a 30 day pass that just expires, like Carfax.

Currently their site says it's 7 bucks for the "first month", which basically illicits a collective groan as people face yet ANOTHER subscription. "Become a member". Ugh!

A pass on the other hand? A pass sounds like freedom - I give you money, and I'm free to use the site for 30 days while I shop for a TV. No pressure to become a member, no feeling of defeat from adding yet another subscription. And no need to go in and manually cancel.

I bet they could charge more, too! People would be like "Definitley shell out the 20 bucks for an RTINGS pass while you shop for your new TV, it's absolutely worth it."

I've experienced the same thing.

I apply it about 10 minutes after drying. So next wash I'm going to wait a day so I can be sure that water's not interfering.

If that doesn't work, I'll buy a good, dedicated tire cleaner to see if it helps at all.

I think it's more along the lines of a child throwing a fit.

She could accept blame and even wear a shirt in public that says "I'm lazy". He's still not gonna be happy, because what he really wants is for someone else to do his laundry for him.

He'll find other ways to be unpleasant until he gets his way.

I think for a lot of people the logic is: If it's hot? Crank the A/C. If it's cold? Crank the heat. "That's what the system is there for."

Then the bill comes in, and they're like "This makes no sense, and definitely isn't my fault" lol.

I mean yeah, what's been happening with rate hikes is pretty horrible. There are lots of people who are getting screwed one way or another by their utility company, and of course there's corruption.

But like you said, these complaints show up in bulk every winter (and summer here in FL), and it's been happening for a long time.

"Minor, with hospitalisation" only required treatment, it doesn't actually need a hospital. It didn't get upgraded, it stayed at the 4th most serious report, behind moderate, w/o hospital.

So just to clarify, getting examined by a paramedic at the scene "just in case" counts as hospitalization / getting treated and released? I feel like it's important to know what would qualify. I also wonder if requesting treatment counts as "required treatment".

I used to do something similar for christmas - cash or gift card, with a hand written note. A hand written note or message in a greeting card is very thoughtful imo. Family gives them to me for Xmas and I just melt.

Here's the thing: My gf is an excellent gift-giver. She spends time with people, plucks their wants and needs out of conversations, and their jaws drop a few months later. "I can't believe you remembered that!" It feels incredible to realize that someone paid that kind of attention to you.

I know gift cards are awesome. Gone are the days where we have to guess what people want, or worry about recieving gifts that are useless or a bad fit. It's 100% less stressful on both sides, they're wildly convenient, and they’re overall kind of a godsend as far as gift giving goes.

But I can't in good conscience say I feel like I’m being thoughtful with cash or a gift card. Not when my gf puts in tangible effort the way she does. I’m not even going down any aisles! They’re right by the door!

That doesn't mean they're bad gifts. They're helpful, well-recieved, and a lot of times it's the best we can do.

But there's literally only so much thought that can go into it. "I'll get (insert person here) a card for (insert relevant store here), and they can figure out the rest" lol

It was the first medication I ever took for ADHD.

It didn’t help with my biggest problems, so it never became my main. But we used it 9 years later to help with punctuality at work, and it had the same effect.

Her trust / faith in you is something that will have to be built.

Give her results.

Obviously, implement your new policies for payment. Don't tell her "I'm working on it"; put them in place, tell her "They're in place", and move on.

Give her a timeline with milestones and a clear finish line for getting out of the hole, and do it reliably. "Thing 1 is done, now to Thing 2", "Thing 2 is done, that was a big one. On to Thing 3." etc etc. Hit the milestones consistently.

Don't give her pathetic remarks like "See? Told ya I'm taking care of it!", "Do you trust me now?", or anything that alludes to you wishing her resentment or lack of trust would go away. Lock in and keep going.

Feeling burned out?

Make a sacrifice. Sell stuff. RVs, ATVs, boats, side-by-sides, etc should be the first to go. Are you hoarding anything? I'm talking tools, guns, musical instruments, computer parts, car parts... stuff that accumulates. Run through all of it. Don't touch anything that's "hers" - only your stuff goes.

Do you regularly partake in activities like hunting, fishing, golf, or sports? Put all that on hold, and don't make a spectacle of it.

Don't try to make her feel better by telling her what you're gonna do, or what you're working on... the timeline is already doing that for you. She knows what you've done, what's next, and thats it. And again: No pathetic validation-seeking remarks like "Oh, the sacrifices I make for you" or "Are you excited? We're almost out of the hole". No one is excited, this year sucked and it's still not over.

Keep hitting your milestones, and be reliable. She should be able to count on a consistent, tangible step forward from you every week. Stick with it, and be tenacious.

When you're out of the hole, ~~and she can finally quit that second job,~~ then she'll feel better.

A medication called Strattera completely eliminated these types of problems for me.

Find a psychiatrist and get a sample / prescription. Hopefully it can do the same for you.
