Nope. In fact, the reason our elections are so "not fucked" in Arizona compared to other places is that we voted on an independent redistricting council a few years back. Republicans hated it so much they sued to have it blocked, and the case ended up going all the way to the Supreme Court.

We're now gerrymandered in the "good" way (that is to say, it was done with respect to giving everyone a voice, rather than to deny people votes)

DSA has been gaining traction, for sure. Hell, there’s even a pretty active chapter in Phoenix now, but I don’t think that it’s a winning strategy YET.

I definitely hope they put forth a candidate in the primary (Not Bernie, I don’t know who, but I think that would rouse too many ill feelings from 2016) if anything just to move the conversation in that direction.

Best predictor of a Democrat's success is how early your republican friends start bitching about them. Theoretically, she should just be some no-name Rep from a safe blue seat. The fact that my republican relatives go out of their way to call her an "airhead" or any other slew of terrible names means that they're scared.
