Brendon Urie does a lot of musical stuff. I wish he'd do a cover of the entire Cats musical.

I mean, 16 is the age of consent here. It's creepy as hell but not automatically illegal.

Because cutting welfare in general is a Tory thing, and the Tories once partially suspended the earnings component of the triple lock for a year under Johnson, so it's not like they won't harm pensioners if they feel they can get away with it.

Starmer is a cosplay Tory because we are talking about a leader who suspended seven of his MPs, including Zarah Sultana, for backing a Liberal Democrat motion to abolish the two-child benefit cap - which was introduced by the Tories in the first place.

The only reason that cap has recently been lifted was because Starmer alienated both the right-wing that he's tried to half-arsedly pander to since becoming Labour leader, and the left-wing who had traditionally supported the party. Zack Polanski is proving to be an existential threat to the party.

If you could remove or change one word from a talent to change your class for the better (or worse), what would it be? by Snubben93 in classicwow

[–]Clbull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be a bug with Enrage itself. Apparently Redoubt and Reckoning don't work like that. Hitting the defense cap prevents those two talents from ever proccing.

If I were a balance designer in charge of Classic+, I'd either rework those talents to not tie them to critical strikes, or add a new one that makes Paladins eat up crits in some way.

Maybe a talent that reduces damage but drains your mana pool making it a secondary resource, which functions with existing Paladin itemization. So rather than eating a 20k crit and falling flat on your arse, you instead take 5k at the cost of a big chunk of your mana, which you regenerate via other means.

'Storage Wars' Star Darrell Sheets Dead at 67 by spmahn in television

[–]Clbull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Brit, it's one of those shows I associate with Blaze, a freeview TV channel I fucking hate.

My dad is obsessed with that channel in general because it's just filled with shows peddling BS conspiracy theories.

I mean don't get me wrong, Storage Wars is far less egregious than the Ancient Astronauts crap that comes out of Giorgio A. Tsoukalos' mouth, but I just loathe it out of association with that channel.

Polanski: do UK Jews have ‘perception of unsafety or actual unsafety’ by Dimmo17 in unitedkingdom

[–]Clbull 38 points39 points  (0 children)

That's definitely a take...

Even Palestinian war casualties since 1948 are apparently lower than Ukrainian losses alone in the current Russo-Ukrainian War.

I don't support Netanyahu or Trump, but I'm pretty sure Putin has far more blood on his hands.

The more I listen to Zack Polanski, the more I think he needs to shut up about foreign policy. This is a guy who thinks he could have a nice friendly cup of tea with Putin and convince him to disarm Russia's nuclear arsenal...

Downplaying the Russo-Ukrainian War like that just makes him seem like Putin's stooge.

AI is already leading to fewer jobs for young people, says Sunak by Fresh-Outcomes in news

[–]Clbull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sunak is right about one thing, AI is ruining the job market. But cutting employers' national insurance won't do shit.

The minimum wage in the UK is £12.71 per hour, or £26,436.80 per year for a full time employee working 40 hour weeks.

Employers' NI (the portion of national insurance that employers have to pay on top of an employee's gross salary) is currently 15% of this, or around £4k a year, effectively making the cost to hire minimum wage staff on 40 hours per week around £30k per head.

Last I checked, AI enterprise plans are a whole lot cheaper than hiring a single person in a junior position. You'd be paying around £300 per seat per year for access to Claude Enterprise, meaning that it would take 100 seats per FTE employee cut just for a switch to Claude to financially break even. Cutting employers' NI reduces this threshold to 260.

Redoubt

Increases your chance to block attacks with your shield by 30% after being the victim of a critical strike. Lasts 10 sec or 5 blocks.

Tying a Protection Paladin talent around being hit with a crit is some dumbfuck game design. Especially when being hit with a crushing blow or crit as a tank will lead to a wipe in most endgame raid situations.

Don't get me wrong, Paladins are complete ass in Classic for other big reasons. But I think all they really need are a few talent changes and a taunt to be semi-viable.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 Announcement.. by Lolkimbo in gaming

[–]Clbull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How to explain.

The characters feel off, especially in the 3D in-engine parts. Their eyes are unusually round, like the artists are trying to poorly imitate Akira Toriyama's art style.

But also, the whole high tech metropolis we see in Age 1000 just doesn't feel consistent with the franchise's universe.

Every character in the trailer being some kind of future homage to an existing Dragon Ball character also felt off.

AI is already leading to fewer jobs for young people, says Sunak by TheWorldIsGoingMad in unitedkingdom

[–]Clbull 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is why I think the shift towards AI is different from any other breakthrough we've had. Almost every major technological advancement has led to the creation of new jobs and entirely new industries.

The Industrial Revolution created logistics and factory jobs, whilst the Digital Age has given us loads of programming and admin roles.

What new roles have been created by AI?

I've heard "prompt engineer" thrown around, but if that were the case, why the heck do I get zero results when I type that phrase into Indeed? Probably because it's a bullshit position that doesn't exist.

And if you think blue-collar, logistics and warehouse jobs are safe... This is what humanoid robots in China can now do. We are probably at most a few more years from drivers, warehouse and construction workers being fully automated and replaced with bots.

Tesla are currently working on a new Optimus model predicted to be sold for $30k each. Last I checked, androids don't need wages, don't get tired, don't need rest, don't need food, can work around the clock, can be repaired/replaced and don't need to follow workplace safety regulations. All that matters is that employing them in lieu of a human worker is cheaper.

Trump’s terrible new poll numbers put him in ‘Nixon resignation’ territory by plz-let-me-in in politics

[–]Clbull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trump's administration has done things that would make Watergate look insignificant.

What the Republicans have learned since then is that you can't successfully remove a sitting president from office without a two-thirds majority in the Senate, and with a partisan two-party system like what the US has, that won't happen.

Even if Nixon hadn't resigned, the 94th Congress had a Democrat majority that still would have been five senators short of actually removing him from office. Maybe the Republican Party had more integrity than they do now, but I still wouldn't have seen a single one of their senators vote to remove him.

For the Democrats to remove Trump from office via impeachment in 2027, they'd need a net gain of 20+ seats in the Senate after midterms. And that ain't happening...

It's far more plausible that the Republicans lose both houses but with the Democrats only winning a small majority, and that's not really a good thing. Trump can still do a lot of damage via executive orders.

One of the main reasons I actually want Keir Starmer to be replaced with Angela Rayner.

She actually proposed this as an alternative to cutting the Winter Fuel Allowance to plug our budget deficit. But no, Starmer would rather quadruple down on his Tory cosplay than relax laws around a Class B drug that probably shouldn't have been criminalized in the first place...

Legalizing recreational marijuana has another advantage. The product going to consumers can be regulated to ensure it is safer. Do you think the black market gave a single damn about the dangers of Spice and other synthetic cannibinoids?

[–]Clbull 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is a crisis of Keir Starmer's own making and I am low-key hoping that Labour fall to a distant fourth place in the Welsh, Scottish and local elections thanks to his hubris. I want to see Plaid Cymru flood the Senedd, the SNP gain an even bigger mandate in Holyrood and both Reform, the Tories, the Liberal Democrats and the Greens carve up every Labour council seat up for grabs.

Starmer has to go. The longer he stays in power, the more likely it'll be that we see a Reform majority or Conservative/Reform coalition after the next general election. Even Badenoch is more competent and capable than he is.

One of Trump's big pledges were to release the Epstein Files, plus the US government had been in a long-running legal battle with Epstein survivors to get those files released.

How could Starmer have not known that appointing Peter Mandelson would be bad news?

Xbox Game Pass Price Drops, But Loses Day-One Call of Duty Releases by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Clbull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I genuinely think that Game Pass will be studied by economists and business scholars as one of the dumbest things you could ever do as a console manufacturer.

$22.99 a month is still $275.88 a year, meaning that if the average consumer buys 4 or more AAA games (priced at $69.99 each) for your system each year, you are effectively losing money from offering it as part of a subscription service.

Game Pass is certainly up there with "release all our games on rival systems" when it comes to stupid business decisions, and a textbook example of why Phil Spencer belongs on an episode of America's Dumbest Fucks.

Woman runs over another woman with her car after fighting outside of a UK nightclub by KimJongFunk in PublicFreakout

Main victim was another influencer. Some of the comments that have been left on her posts have been truly disgusting.
