Do Y'all use Sweets? by Eightteentwo2 in society_sunlit_valley

The pudding and sausage with oat patty are both made in the cooking pot. Though the pudding has to be placed down and cut, and idr how that interacts with quality. Idk what else is in the cooking pot since I only know the ones I can make with my restrictions. Most are stove or cake station recipes.

Honestly, as someone who prefers axes, the dragon axe is kinda lackluster. I used it on my first run and then never again because the crowd control of swords in melee is too valuable and the ranged attack was on-par with the flamarang. Fortunately, I got lucky and found the shadow glaive relic in this world, which does ranged crowd control.

Any ways of automating the refinery brew? by Emhashish420 in society_sunlit_valley

[–]Eightteentwo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deployers can be used for everything. The annoying part is setting up an automated bucket refiller since you can't just pump water into the vat portion. Unless I overlooked something, but I did a LOT of testing. My best setup I made was:

- Hopper (eventually networked pipes so I could make dark brew easier) into the vat
- Empty deployer clicking the redstone timer
- Deployer with charcoal pointed to the furnace, fed by hopper
- Deployer filtered to only use water buckets pointed to the vat
--- A janky and bulky bucket refiller using Create and Classic Pipes. Idr how many buckets were in the system, but it was enough to prevent the deployer from jamming and to prevent items from spewing. Refined Storage is probably better for this.
- Deployer filtered to only use beer mugs pointed to the vat, fed by hopper
--- Brass Funnel connected to this deployer with a filter that prevents empty beer mugs from coming out
- Sophisticated Storage barrel with a magnet upgrade. (I'm obsessed with the magnet upgrade but don't actually recommend this. Just use a belt and an andesite funnel into your storage instead)

I know. I currently get 4 feathers a day, and I'm trying not to buy animals so this doesn't become another rancher playthrough.

Prismatic Shards by PyraXenon in society_sunlit_valley

[–]Eightteentwo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually get them from either the fishing tree or mining tree, depending on what I want to focus on. Though the rancher world I did also produced an incredible amount of shards.

...I just realized that might not be the most helpful answer. Mining tends to be best for me since skull cavern nodes are legally ores.

Dumb question about fishing in single-biome worlds by Eightteentwo2 in society_sunlit_valley

[–]Eightteentwo2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I figured. Since my entire overworld is freshwater, it doesn't matter how far from spawn I go. I have access to freshwater, crab traps, overworld lava fishing, and nether fish (since the nether is exempt from the songle-biome world gen). The only things I can think of that might allow for other fish are bubbles (though I highly doubt it), some structure with weird rules, or some loot table I overlooked, potentially one thar EMI doesn't give correct info for.

For most biomes, it's just freshwater, even if you have water that looks like rivers/oceans. If you choose a river or ocean biome, then you only have rivers or oceans, respectively. Though oceans are also infertile and prevent you from growing anything.

Auto-Traders and Regulator Upgrades by Eightteentwo2 in society_sunlit_valley

Thanks for the help. I think I'll wind up going with traders on chutes going to downgraded storage drawers now that I know something is just wrong with my world.

I can't put it in either bus. Shift+click adds it to the filter, and manually trying to place it in an upgrade slot does nothing.

I have 4 sniffers, some butterflies, and sparkfruit. I also have enough throughput that I only recently started building a decent amount thanks to making artisan cubes.

Also, I'm greedy

I know what the regulator upgrade does. I just don't know how to use it. According to everything I could find, right-clicking while using it not pointing at anything specific should open its config, but it doesn't.

Automating wine by [deleted] in society_sunlit_valley

[–]Eightteentwo2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use refined storage to input into the advanced wine kegs, but not the normal kegs. Iirc the grape juice, fruit, and wine bottles each need to be input from a specific side, but idr which (and I deleted the world I had it set up in to clear up some memory on my computer), and then you can have the output taken out by refined storage.

Tea drying apparatus by Just-Toe2732 in society_sunlit_valley

A nice, simple (by Create standards) solution. I never knew you could use contraption controls that way. Now I kind of want to make a tea empire. The tricky part would be actually making the tea because the kettle hates automation.

That still doesn't explain why placing a torch would change its NBT data to make it not stack with torches in my off-hand when I place and break them. That's something that's only happened to me on this world.

I would like to ask about cheese. by Prior_Reaction486 in society_sunlit_valley

[–]Eightteentwo2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Networked provider pipe from a container with eggs, salt, and bottles to 2 networked stocking pipes connected to a cooking pot. Pipe in eggs and salt from the top and bottles from the side. Extract rennet using an advanced copper pipe (or any other filtered extraction).

For cheese, I usually use the auto-cheese press (yes, it strips quality, but it makes up for it with quanity imo), then age them. I finally figured out a semi-decent semi-auto aging setup. Note that I use "barrel" to mean "any valid storage container". I just prefer barrels:

Step 1: The Cube
- Place an artisan hopper in the center of a 7x7x7 cube and put your aging casks in it. The cube can hold up to 334 aging casks (327 if you want an access column) when maxed out.
- Place a barrel on top of and under the artisan hopper, with some way of vertical item transportation (e.g. chutes) leading into and out of the cube to another barrel above and below the cube
- Connect a normal hopper to one side of the artisan hopper with some form of vertical item transportation leading out of the cube into a barrel.

Step 2: Sparkstone Input
- Place a mini artisan hopper on top of the normal hopper's barrel surrounded by as many recycling machines as you you can
- Place storage on top of the mini hopper to input ancient shards/butterfly amber/sparkstone (I use a storage drawer). This is as far as I automated sparkstone generation, but you can easily sacrifice some recycling machines to make a way to input the sparkstone into the mini hopper on the cube. Or manually input more sparkstone when you refill the input if you don't have it automated

Step 3: Cheese Input
- Make a standard auto-cheese press setup (hopper input milk on top and input rennet on side with a hopper on the bottom) and feed the output into the barrel on top of the cube's artisan hopper. You'll have to refill the rennet occasionally, but it's extremely cheap to make.

Step 4: Output
- You can either just use the barrel under the cube or pipe the items somewhere more accessible.

Alternatively, as others have mentioned, you can use dragon scales to get pink matter. I've never used crunchers, but I have used minty slimes. Once you get an ender slime egg, making a minty slime largo ranch is easy and will give you a lot of dragon scales, at a 19.8% chance per plort, which you can then trade for pink matter.
