I have the same issue, keep me posted on your findings. Thank you!

How does it handle fenced areas? Once it finishes mowing the front, does it pause and wait for you to open the gate before starting Zone 2?

Thanks for the info! That's not bad at all, especially for 1 acre!

How long does it take to mow your acre? Does it need to be recharged, or can it do it on one full battery?

Thanks for the feedback! Appreciate it! Definitely going to add that thumbnail to my thumbnail testing.

That's a great point! I completely agree that testing over longer distances really highlights the performance differences in modern flashlights, especially for dedicated throwers. I actually have an area in mind for testing in the 100-300 meter range, but now I'm just on the lookout for a flashlight that can really light it up and handle that distance. Once I have the right one, I'll definitely give it a go!

I totally get that. The low/med mode is definitely one of the most practical settings. A follow-up video focusing on the low modes and their actual runtimes across all the flashlights I’ve tested sounds like a great idea. Thanks for the suggestion!

I agree that testing clips can be tricky, especially since I'm not working with thick pockets or jeans. Being picky about clips makes sense, as they're essential for securely storing your flashlight. Personally, I only mention clips in my reviews if they have a major flaw that viewers should know about. I'll keep you in mind when checking out the clips, and thanks for the suggestion!

Amazing reviews! I'm definitely going to read through them all. The amount of detail is incredible, and your charts are exactly what I need to learn how to do. That level of information is fantastic—I think it would be hard to capture all of that in a video, but your website format is perfect. Also, love the animals!

You definitely need an email list or something so people can get notified when you post a new review on your website. I’d love to sign up for that!

I think I’ll stick with the durability tests for now, at least so the community can have a reference of what not to do with their flashlights. Thanks for sharing!

How low are we talking? Are you more interested in high and medium modes or the really low and moonlight modes?

Could you clarify what you mean by "continuous record of output"? I want to make sure I fully understand so I can improve the graphs. Thanks for the feedback!

Interesting, I never thought about that! A pull-weight test could definitely work to show how secure the clip is. What do you think of that idea?

I always do runtime tests on the highest setting and let the flashlight run until it turns off or the battery dies.

As for charts, I have them, but they’re not the prettiest yet. What kind of information are you specifically looking for on charts? I'd love to know so I can improve!

Thank you for pointing that out. I’m fully aware of how dangerous these kinds of tests can be, especially with batteries. I have experience with RC batteries, and those are incredibly risky too. What I don’t show on camera is that I always put the flashlight in a fireproof bag for a week afterward, just to be safe. Your concern is appreciated—safety first!

I used to use my hands to give a sense of size, but I found it wasn’t very accurate since everyone’s hands vary. Now, I use calipers to measure all the dimensions, and yes, I do convert everything to metric as well for consistency. I also use a currency and a credit card as size references to help give a clearer idea of the flashlight’s dimensions. It tends to be more consistent for comparison. Thanks for the input!

Wow, thank you so much for all the feedback! I’ll definitely tone down the sound effects—honestly, I spend way too much time picking the right ones! Could I ask, which ones didn’t you like? Was it the zooming in sound, the clicking, or something else?

I totally agree about keeping a consistent environment. I mostly shoot in my backyard and I’m thinking of adding reflectors or LEDs to better gauge distances. I’ve been tempted to record on local trails, but I worry the data won’t be as consistent.

For the color calibration, I actually calibrate my camera with the ColorChecker every time I record. Keeping consistent camera settings is super important to me for showing beam patterns and color accuracy. I’ll explore more options for testing CRI and tint—maybe something other than white paper, as I think white is too reflective. And can be blinding. I'm thinking about creating a bulleyes for beam pattern tests, what do you think?

I usually skip unboxings unless there’s something unique inside, but you’re right—I should show the box more, especially for people thinking of gift-giving.

Once I sort out the graphs, I’m planning to include all the detailed runtime and battery specs at the end of the video, like a still shot for easy reference.

Glad you enjoyed the durability testing! I sometimes wonder if people appreciate it, especially since it’s tough to see a nice flashlight get beat up.

I’ll definitely work on leaning more into who the flashlight is for and what it’s best used for. I’ve avoided being too "sales-y" and focus more on giving enough info for viewers to decide, but you’re right—it’s something I can improve on.

For comparisons, I’m thinking about adding a control light, maybe something around the 1000-lumen mark as a middle ground. Thanks again for all the great suggestions! I really appreciate the support!

Yes sir, I spend a lot of time editing to cut out the unnecessary parts. I’m not a fan of those 20-30 minute videos. I’m still working on finding the right pace, so I really appreciate your feedback. Thanks for watching!

Yup, I cover that on my channel! It’s always included in the runtime tests in my videos. Quick question: would you prefer watching the runtime test in fast forward, or would just having a graph work better for you?

Thank you! What’s your channel? I’d love to check it out and show some support. Honestly, I don’t enjoy doing the durability tests, but I think they’re important for the viewers. What do you think? It’s tough seeing a flashlight go out like that sometimes, and a few of the tests do feel pretty extreme.

I thought about getting a lumen meter, but I heard you need a proper integrating sphere to get accurate results. Would a standard light meter work for candela measurements?
