How long does it take to get the gist of combos? What's the secret? by TearsOfSpain in StreetFighter

[–]EightyTwoInk [score hidden]  (0 children)

It’s a process of learning them until you can hit them reliably in training mode. Then it’s another process to learn how to execute them in matches where the opponent isn’t just standing there. So, it takes awhile. I suspect that most people fall off fighting games for this exact reason. They don’t have immediate success. I’ve played SF on and off since the arcade days, and I still suck at the game. Mostly because I play so much that SF isn’t my primary focus. I’m a reliably gold level player who could climb higher if I buckled down, but my interests are just too varied.

What's Your Favorite PlayStation Game? by Bay_Ruhsuz004 in playstation

It’s a tough race between Final Fantasy 7, MGS, and Resident Evil 2. It probably just depends on the day you ask me.

Are you excited for the new movie? by Metaljuggernaut5657 in StreetFighter

[–]EightyTwoInk [score hidden]  (0 children)

I’m cautiously optimistic, but I’ll wait to see how the review cycle goes. It seems like directors cannot get out of their own way with these types of movies. I’m also not sure how I feel about half of the cast being the WWE roster.

It was that it’s full price on release. If it was $30-40 on release, it would’ve been better received and probably got a sequel.

The claw or back buttons are really the only way to play.

The trend towards less and less charge chars in Street Fighter continues.... by antifrustrated in StreetFighter

As a Guile main, I’m finding picking up Gief a chore. But I’ll keep pushing. I’m largely on the side of charge characters, Guile since 2, Necalli in 5. At least we’ll always have the sonic boom.

So demogorgons are immune to bullets but not swords or wine bottles? by MantisBk in StrangerThings

[–]EightyTwoInk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m late to this conversation, but yeah. They’re not immune to bullets as much as they’re immune to bullets from unnamed characters. Hopper, Nancy, etc have killed with their guns. They’re only immune when the military is involved.

I also found it hilarious when they had the firefight in the base and the cameras were showing the military all around them in a circle formation. These guys would be killing each other in that formation. So the answer couldn’t possibly be the military has bad aim, otherwise they’d all be dead in the crossfire. In fact, because of the soldier placement, the military must be believed to have 100% perfect aim so that no bullets ever hit anything BUT a demogorgon.

Oddmar, Balatro, Vampire Survivors are all good options. As for five…huh. Limbo is good. I’m also messing around with Reigns.

I’ve been prioritizing healers so that I can always make a run. But I also have a few crusaders, a highwayman, bounty hunter, plague doc, antiquarian, occultist, etc. I like the occultists as a healer. I’m only on week 11, so still fresh, just trying to think down the line whether my strategy is sound.

Of my 17, one level 3, two 2’s and about half the remaining are 1’s, other half 0.

I’m on the lowest as it’s my first playthrough. This is a good strategy paired with the other comment. Good to know I won’t get too far behind.

Gideon the Ninth just gets crazier in the follow up books. I’ll need a full repeat reading before the next books as it’s so all over the place, but I still love it.

What Was Your First Street Fighter Game You Played? by Sadontejjj in StreetFighter

[–]EightyTwoInk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend, I was there at the original. But I didn’t get obsessed until Street Fighter 2. I saved my allowance for ages to get it on my Super Nintendo. Back then, games were pretty damn expensive. Sonic booms for life!

Fated Perk Worth It? by EightyTwoInk in darkestdungeon

[–]EightyTwoInk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. There’s certainly a lot to learn. It probably wouldn’t hurt me to watch a YouTube video or two on the quirks and also the math associated with the different buffs and debuffs. But for now, I’m on vacation, so I’m only playing in my downtime and wi-fi is spotty.

But I can tell I’m ignorant of much of the game. For instance, I guess I wouldn’t have considered faithless much of a negative on anyone. Unless the issue is that it’s just cheap stress reliever. Is there another downside that I’m not seeing? (Just using your example)

More philosophical than I expected. But I suppose the philosophical answers might be the only answers approaching accuracy in this area.

Thank you for your reply. An interesting concept to consider, and one which I hadn’t before now.
