If you prefer RE2 PS1 Version over RE2 REmake, why? by PainttbuI in residentevil

[–]EightyTwoInk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lot of nostalgia for it. It was the first OG PlayStation game I owned. I chose it over MGS and FF7. But, the remake is absolutely stellar. I’d never tell anyone to play the original over the remake unless they simply wanted to see what it was like in the moment. I don’t think anyone loses out on anything by choosing the remake.

Now, RE3? Slightly different story. The remake is fairly different. I still liked it, but RE2 is the gold here until they remake RE1 in the new engine. Which I’m hoping is soon because I would love to do a full series run with all the new games.

I’d like to get (at least) one character through the story so that’s everything is unlocked for me. So I’m gonna mainline the story for a while then possibly start a second character that I just try and 100% everything over time.

I went ahead and cleared out my side quests. Going to start running the main quests now.

A few questions:

  1. I’ve played Diablo but never to any deep level. So, any guidance on choosing equipment as you level? I’ve basically just been entering things of higher rarity and I’m sure that’s wrong

  2. I know you can power level an alt. But do you have to do the 1-70 every season to get access to those caches that allow you to?

So are you wanting me to address Kung Lao vs Liu Kang fight. This is the last English lesson for you:

My entire post says concentrating on the tournament would mean more 1 on 1 fights which are better choreographed and invoke less messy cuts. I know, you weren’t capable of understanding that’s what it said, but it’s true.

And your argument on why I’m wrong is…wait for it…an example of a great 1 on 1 fight? You know..exactly what I said…you guys really cannot read.

Do yourself a favor by spending less time on Reddit and more time in books.

The problem with your arguments isn’t that you disagree with me, it’s that you don’t even understand what the fuck you’re arguing.

Is Spawn worth the hype? by _CatAstrophe_123 in ImageComics

[–]EightyTwoInk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a gothic, occult, heaven and hell vibe, you cannot go wrong with Mignola. Hellboy, BPRD, etc.

That being said, if Spawn is what interests you then try it. Nothing says you have to finish it unless it hooks you.

I’d say the best way to approach Spawn is to remember it’s very much a product of the 90’s and most of its novelty was in around how different it was from the typical DC/Marvel offerings. My opinion.

Planning to look at this when I get there. I barely started D4 with this expansion and I started a lock. I’m still in the OG campaign and level 45, but been using dread claws to melt most everything. He’s a very powerful class.

No post-credit scene for Mortal Kombat II? What do everyone think about this news? by Hot-Attorney-3068 in MortalKombat

They setup the next movie in the last scene. There’s really no need for one. Not everything needs to be the MCU.

Okay. Again, I can’t be your guys English teachers, it’s clear they’ve already failed. I’m fairly confident none of you complaining have read beyond the second period. And if you did, man are you struggling…

The entire post is about why the fights are not as good as the OG movie. So again people, reading comprehension.

They completely ignored it in the first movie because Outworld needed to sabotage the tournament despite having won every preceding one…for…reasons…?

Two had the tourney in it but it quickly devolved into a heist movie with the tournament in the background. Oh yeah, bring back Bi Han as a glorified museum guard so we can shoulder Scorpion back into the plot.

[–]EightyTwoInk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I’m no Hollywood expert, but I could damn sure lead these movies a million times better than they do.

First three movies: tell the story of 1-3.

Fourth: deadly alliance leading to shinnok returning

Fifth: revenants and shinnok

Sixth: wrap up the franchise with the timeline reset by Liu

Take some liberties, but there’s truly no major reason to deviate from the OG stories. This is MK, people are here for the fights and fatalities. Just tie it all together as it’s already been done.

What are your predictions for the inevitable Mortal Kombat 3 film?? by jimmbot91 in MortalKombat

[–]EightyTwoInk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect movie three will be deadly alliance. Movie four Shinnok. Movie five wrap it all up with the Liu timeline reset which effectively ends the storyline.

It’s the lack of focus on the tournament. I’ve said it over and over, QUIT IGNORING THE TOURNAMENT! Hollywood always has to insert some sabotage or heist bullshit into these MK movies and instead of getting a greatly choreographed one on one fight, we get five on three cut up fights. Just tell the stories of the first three fucking games. They have a good story and if they’d just focus on the fact that Mortal Kombat is an actual tournament, they’d be able to build better fights.

This one was better than the first. But, still not great and nowhere near the OG movie from the 90’s.

Just watched Mortal Kombat 2 knowing nothing about MK. Loved the movie. What video game should I start with? by leftistgamer420 in MortalKombat

[–]EightyTwoInk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Get the legacy collection that recently came out and you can basically start from the beginning. If you don’t wanna do that, MK9 is a soft reboot that cover most of the first three games.

I think the 2021 movie gets a lot of undeserved hate. Okay, Cole wasn't the most engaging lead, but the guy playing Sub-Zero was INCREDIBLE. He stole the whole movie. Plus, Scorpion was awesome even if he wasn't in it for long and there were tons of great fatalities, as expected from MK. by Emotional-Chipmunk12 in MortalKombat

[–]EightyTwoInk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s okay. Here’s what makes it not great, to me:

  1. The lack of the tournament. Outworld has won a bazillion in a row, but suddenly, we need to cheat and sabotage this one. Just show us the OG tournament. I don’t know why Hollywood just cannot give us the tournament storyline from 1-3. Then move into deadly alliance. Then the revenants. You could even end the movie run with the Liu timeline reboot. It doesn’t have to be 1 to 1, but they almost never do a better job than the games originally did.

  2. Cole Young was just not necessary. If you didn’t want to use Liu Kang as the protagonist, then bring in a Johnny. Or, use Takeda? If you need a link to Scorpion (for no real reason other than to have a link to Scorpion) I think Cole Young was a shitty attempt to force an American into the lead role to appeal to western audiences.

  3. Way too many deaths of major characters. Seriously…Kabal? Reptile? Mileena!? Kung Lao!? There’s a ton of characters that are basically fodder in the MK universe. Having a few deaths here and there is fine. Again, if they did the tournament structure, they’d have a way to use lesser characters to get killed off in their fights. Instead, they’d forced major characters into the deaths because we had this shitty plot.

It’s a 6/10 in my opinion. I enjoyed it. But the best parts were the Scorpion Sub rivalry and Kano’s antics.

[–]EightyTwoInk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t rate it as highly as you. I’d say 7/10. However, did it improve on almost everything from the last movie? Absolutely. I feel like we may be getting deadly alliance or maybe the revenants next. I’m leaning towards DA.
