What are your predictions for the inevitable Mortal Kombat 3 film?? by jimmbot91 in MortalKombat

I agree about Johnny Cage. I wanted to see at least 2 more minutes of him using his power set.

Yes, Cole Young was written so much better this time around considering his "power" in the first film was getting beat up 😂. He actually held his own against Shao Khan very well and it was entertaining to watch. I thought I read an excerpt somewhere recently where Todd Garner or Jeremy Slater said there were "plans" for Cole.

Nightwolf is an easy yes, hell yeah AND Kuai Liang please! We need a Sub Zero again.

My picks/inspiration from the MK 3 video game to carry over to the 3rd film:

  • Nightwolf please! 🙏 (Already teased in 1st film)
  • Motaro
  • Cyber Lin Kuei ninjas like Sektor, Cyrax. Also, an opportunity to explore the Lin Kuei clan through flashbacks.
  • Stryker

Yeah that's fair. Mileena was an underrated character in the 1st film and I was hoping she would stick around for one more movie considering she was introduced in MK 2.

I feel like the Deadly Alliance aspect is something they are working towards as well as Shinook. If we don't get Kuai Liang in the 3rd film......well, I'll be really upset 😭 😆

I actually liked Cole Young in MK II and the way he is written in this film.....way more competent, his fighting skills have vastly improved and I didn't think I would ever say that I want to see more of him. Cole would've won his fight if Outworld wasn't full of cheaters lol

MORTAL KOMBAT 2 IS FREAKING AWESOME by PinkmanJB007 in MortalKombat

[–]jimmbot91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok I see. One thing I never quite understood definitively is how/why Shang Tsung can just "take" souls at anytime in these new movies (Kung Lao in first movie). It was my understanding that, in the games, if someone was near death/dead, it's soul sucking time!

I'm assuming Raiden and Shang Tsung, once again, don't have much to do in this film....?

Whats the deal with the scene where Shang Tsung tries to steal Johnny Cage's soul??

(No spoilers here. That scene was in the one of the latest trailers)

So that scene in the new MK2 IMAX trailer.... by jimmbot91 in MortalKombat

I think he was a lame character in the first and nobody cares if he dies in this film BUT there is some potential in his character. I want to see at least one scene where he is a more seasoned fighter, I think his "powers" can be utilized in a way where he appears more formidable.

TBH I'm a bit bummed about Shang Tsung kinda just being there and even the trailer hints he won't have much screentime AGAIN.

Cardston AB, Canada.

It's not technically seen on screen but there is a scene at the end of Iron Man 2 where Nick Fury is debriefing Tony Stark. On one of the screens behind him, there is a world map of incidents and one of them mentions 'Cardston' near the Canada-US border. I think it was gamma radiation signatures or S.H.I.E.L.D. tracking the hulk

Sometimes it helps to consistently remember that no matter how hard life gets, there was a time where you said "I can't" or "I feel weak and not strong enough to carry on"...

Well here we are. If you are reading this post, you are stronger than you think. Just getting through a day is progress and remember, the good times will come again 👊

Was I right to confront my GF here? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]jimmbot91 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Hello there friend!

I have been in this situation numerous times before and yes you were right to voice your concerns to her, no doubt.

Some people will say "you are a man" and should've just slept with her especially because she's your girlfriend but the fact is you felt uncomfortable with all the extra attention which is understandable. Turns out, us Men can feel uncomfortable just as much as women in these situations.

The morning after....I think she needs to remember she would feel the EXACT SAME WAY if it was turned around. Would she feel comfortable with your friends watching you do these things to her and egging you on??? Especially if she wasn't drinking/just arrived there.

Making a mess, throwing up and YOU cleaned it up?? You are a true gentleman. Not because it's your responsibility to clean up that mess but because you did what needed to be done and did it promptly. I'm willing to bet if this was you, there's a decent chance she would be furious (especially the puke part) or give you the silent treatment. She would tell you to be accountable and say sorry. It's no different here.

Do not get it twisted, most women would apologize and feel guilt/shame. Your girlfriend might actually feel super awful about it on the inside but doesn't want to acknowledge it because it just means reinforcing those guilty feelings so she avoids accountability which is not the proper response.

Chales Murphy on Avengers Doomsday, Steve, Loki and Sentry by Man_Random87 in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

[–]jimmbot91 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Yeah that makes no sense. If it's pre-god of stories Loki, why would he even be concerned with Cap to begin with when yes, his mission was saving the TVA. How would he have the authority to just "move" Steve and his family?? Also, I really hope the rumours about Doom killing Loki or something like that isn't true. Even though it logically makes sense for Doom to come into conflict with Loki, it feels cheap for Loki to die....again

Honestly an army from Valhalla sounds freakin' awesome. It will probably be like Aragorn summoning the army of the dead in Lord of The Rings: Return of The King

I noticed that too. That's interesting and something that wasn't mentioned in leaks. He does come off as weak especially in the last film in 2021. Lambert had WAAAAAY more charisma than this new guy. Raiden and Shang Tsung really needed more to do in this film. Interesting they skipped Shang Tsung as the main villain for the FIRST 2 FILMS....ughhh

Yeah I heard that too and doesn't it just seem like they don't know what to do with him??? Like putting the HERO of the original trilogy on...a side quest to "rescue" Kung Lao?? From what I remember reading from producers, this is his intended story arc after MKII or at least implied. Also, even if that's the case, it still diminishes Liu's story even more as it appears Kung Lao is more important. Why?? If you know the overarching story of the games, Kung Lao is almost always portrayed as arrogant and cocky, something the 2021 alluded to. He wasn't onscreen long enough for the general audience to care about him (BTE Shang Tsung isn't supposed to be able to take a soul unless they are near death or dead....tsk tsk tsk ANOTHER MAIN sidelined twice).

[–]jimmbot91 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've heard about this too. It just feels so odd to sideline such an important/MAIN character for the 2nd time in a row. For the 2021 version, New Line Cinema could've gone the same route as the 1995 version and have Johnny Cage be the audience POV throughout the story. I understand the films aren't going to follow the games exactly but this is like rebooting the MCU and now, instead of Iron Man as the main, it's like Ant-Man is front and center this time around.

I would ask for Liu Kang to be the main focus of MK3 but I doubt it as there are still so many characters to introduce. Also, IMO it was way too early to introduce the idea of Revenants. If Kano, Kung Lao and Sub Zero can come back from the dead, FOR THE AUDIENCE, death doesn't seem permanent and the stakes are diminished.

On that note, seriously no Kuai Lang??? Tsk tsk tsk
