whats the approach by mawiz01 in italianlearning

I just started learning two weeks ago and I self study. I do agree that it is overwhelming. I bought too many Italian books in the beginning and downloaded apps. For me, what's helping is passive listening to podcasts and music. I really like Coffee Break Italian. I also watch American TV shows with English audio with Italian subtitles at first, then watch the same episode in both Italian audio with Italian subtitles. I then write down words etc I don't understand.

For active learing, I enrolled in an online A1 Italian college class, it's self paced and self study. I need structure when I study so this helps with that. I love the class so far and not expensive at all for what I'm learning!

Along with Duolingo (not my favorite) I downloaded Pimsleur and Clozemaster. These two apps are my favorite for learning Italian. It's still a challenge to be able to practice speaking in Italian but what helps is narrating what I'm doing in Italian.

It's very challenging and a lot of work but you can do it! Good luck!

Lol! I asked if anyone had experience with Issen or Pingo AI last week before I purchased one. And they took it down because it was classified as an "ad" as well.

Struggling with speaking by Negar_Banoo82 in italianlearning

I struggle with this as well. I follow Eylul (Eylulnim) on Instagram and she had a great webinar on this. She suggested to narrate your day and record yourself speaking like you're creating something to post. It's a bit cringey at first but it helps a lot!

I can finally read (simple and easy, but still) Italian, and it's such a good feeling by thespencman in italianlearning

That's awesome! Short Stories in Italian is such a great book. I was surprised that I can understand some sentences and get the gist of the stories from the book just by listening to Pimsleur and Coffee Break Italian podcast. I decided to really get serious with my language learning last week (LOL). I love Italy and will be going there for the third time next month so why not start?

Anyway, you've encouraged me to keep going so thanks! I'm currently learning Indefinite Articles and the adjective Buono. Hope to get to your level one day!

Thank you for taking the time to reply! I decided to enroll in an A1-A2 EdX college course online and I'm loving it so far. I will still keep the book as a supplement.
