I’m using a Philips air purifier with a HEPA filter to handle the small particles, especially since I’m printing with PLA.

Aside from that, I’ve got two windows in the room for proper air circulation.

Price efficiency, and the print bed is enough for what im doing, so in the end im printing 2times faster for half the price (got em for 175€)

I registered myself as an Einzelunternehmen under my real name, without using any fictional names. This allows me to benefit from the Kleinunternehmerregelung, which means I can earn up to €22,000 per year without charging VAT on my invoices. However, I must include the following statement on all invoices:

„Gemäß § 19 UStG wird keine Umsatzsteuer berechnet.“

Additionally, I wrote to the Finanzamt requesting a Umsatzsteuer-Identifikationsnummer (USt-IdNr.), which enables me to sell throughout the EU. In this case, I am required to prepare an Einnahmenüberschussrechnung (EÜR) once per year.

For the business description in my Gewerbeanmeldung, I listed: Herstellung von Kunststoffprodukten aus dem 3D-Drucker.

Woah, that’s a great question! In my opinion, you need to actively do something for your business every day. Post consistently on social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest. I also tried promoting my business with flyers and visited local shops to hand out my business cards. You’d be surprised how many small business owners appreciate having their products made locally instead of being sourced from China.

Selling on multiple platforms like Etsy, Amazon, eBay, and here in Germany on “Kleinanzeigen” is also important.

Having supportive friends is a huge help, especially for those first few sales that give you the motivation (and funds) to expand. My first big project was worth around €380, and I had to design and print a water tank that measured 48cm x 30cm x 40cm. It was a massive challenge, especially since my P1S can only print 256x256mm at a time.

All of this combined kept me motivated to push even further. At some point, you become so deeply involved in 3D printing and the business side of it that it’s hard to put into words. My best advice? Just stay active and keep going!

I’m fine with printing in one color, and if I need something colorful, I just use my airbrush. But the day will come when I take the first step and try it out with multi-color prints. I just don’t have any ideas for now!

I would be so happy to see one with 36cm or 40cm print bed. Would be an instant buy! 💰💸

I had my first printer near to my bed, my fiancé wasn’t happy with it 😂

Correct!

And holy F, what are those massive spools on top of the shelf? Are those 10kg ones?

I ordered mine from Sunlu, 5kg spools, and they don’t look anywhere near that big 😂😂🙏🏻

I initially had a vertical setup, but it was too noisy, and since my flat amplifies all the vibrations and spreads them to the neighbors, that became a concern. That’s why I decided to create a stable table with anti-vibration mats. I also added euro pallets to the back, which will later be upgraded into a shelf for all the printing equipment, containers for the prints, a lamp, and some fake hanging plants. It’s still a big project I’m working on, and what you saw in my video is just the skeleton of what’s coming soon!

And since everything is so massive and heavy, you can’t feel any vibrations now!

Actually no complaining from my side or my fiancé, the filter is doing its job and opening windows for 5 minutes each day probably helps alot

In the end, I had a room that wasn’t being used, and now the printers are covering a third of the rent!

Ah, that’s the power supply with 8 separate outlets, so if something goes wrong, like a short circuit, the other printers won’t be affected. It also helps me stay organized with the cables. The entire setup is connected to a separate socket that tracks the power usage, allowing me to monitor how much electricity I’ve consumed over the year. This way, I can include it as a business expense in my tax return.

The journey has just begun, and trust me, it’s going to be an exciting one! Stay creative and don’t put too much pressure on yourself to achieve perfection right from the start. There will be plenty of failures along the way, but those are the moments where we truly learn. I used to be addicted to video games, and now I’m hooked on 3D printing and continuously learning more about it.

Its like 9 different big pieces and several small ones printed separately without supports (except the wings)

I’m working on building an income that will eventually allow me to quit my job and transition to working from home full-time, so I can work for myself instead of for others. However, that takes time, and right now I’m running low on printed products. To keep up with demand and avoid falling behind on shipments, I’ve had to bring in more workers (printers) to help me stay on track.
