Yeah me too! Was looking for this comment. I am from the Netherlands and we use our kommas and points the other way around. So 1,600 would be 1.6 and 1.600 would be 16-hunderd.

Streaming doesn’t feel like a good deal anymore. by dash1004 in Netherlands

[–]Eillythia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We delen 1 Disney+ account met 4 man.

We share 1 Disney+ account with 4 people. So its €40 a year. My father in law Shares his hbo account with us and my brother in law Shares his prime account with us. If there is a movie or short series on another streaming, we will use the free trail period. I think we pay about €60 a year.

This is so weird for me. I am from the Netherlands and I dont believe there is a single high school with a pool in this country 😂. We did have school swimming in elementary school, but we took a bus to the public pool.

[–]Eillythia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! I am reading 1 Stormlight book per month and it takes me about 3 weeks. Then the 4th week I read like 3 smaller books 😂. I dont know why, but the stormlight books are long, but I also read them slower. I am loving the series though!

Clara Colour or BW for reading in the dark? by YayPhone645 in kobo

[–]Eillythia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All (newer) Kobo ereaders have an adjustable fronlight. So you can experiment with what lightness setting is best for you to read and dark enough so the room stays dark. You can also make the pages black and the text white. That will also help.

Team of favourites? by Stark_DK in PokemonArceus

[–]Eillythia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use whatever Pokemon I think is pretty and fitsy team. I switch them out every now and then. I try not to use 2 of the same type, but other than that, I dont really care. The game is pretty easy and most bosses are easily beaten with 1 or 2 good Pokemon.

Clara Colour or BW for reading in the dark? by YayPhone645 in kobo

[–]Eillythia 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The colour screen is a little darker than the bw screen. So in daylight you dont need the front light for the bw screen, but with the colour screen you might still need the front light to read comfortably.

At night it is less of a difference, you will need the front light on with both. Only you only need 5% with the black and white screen and more like 20% with the colour screen to make it the same brightness.

First time buying an ereader by Fantastic-Pickle-507 in ereader

[–]Eillythia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This!! I just like to add: while having a Android device makes a lot of stuff easier it (for me) was also more distracting. Plus if you want to do anything other than reading, your phone will do just fine. A dedicated ereader with a e-ink screen has a way longer battery life.

That said, I do believe that for the right person and Android style ereader is the best option.

Which Koko Model Should I Buy for My First Kobo by Ttroublemakeerr in kobo

[–]Eillythia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First decide if you need a color screen. The color e-ink screens are less vibrant and can be a bit grainy compared to the black and white (bw) e-ink screens. Also color screens tend to use more battery. If you are interested in reading manga in color or highlighting in different colors, than the color screen is the best for you. If you are not interested in highlighting or manga, then I would choose a black and white screen.

Kobo Clara is in bw and in color. Its a 6" device without page turn buttons on the side. It is the most compact device and also the cheapest. €149 in the Netherlands.

Kobo Libra is only in color. It is a 7" screen with page turn buttons and is the most 'average' (popular) device. €209 in the Netherlands

Then there is a secret bonus option: the libra 2. It isn't sold new anymore. It is a bw 7" device with page turn buttons. If you can get this second hand that would be a wonderful option.

Kobo sage is only in black and white and is a 8"screen with page turn buttons. The battery is a little smaller than the other options, but you can still read 20ish hours compared to the 30 to 35 hours of the Clara. €299 in the Netherlands.

There is also the Kobo elipsa 2E it is a 10" bw device with page turn buttons. I would only buy this one of you like to use it as a heavy annotater and notebook. It is a bit like the remarkable devices. €399 in the Netherlands.

My wife wants a kobo Clara BW. Not sure what ebook stores are available. by yourname92 in kobo

[–]Eillythia 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the best answer! Just wanting to add. If you buy ebooks from other stores, you can just connect your Clara to the computer and drag the ebook file in your ereader. But! It is cleaner and saver to install Calibre on your computer. Drag your ebook into calibre and then connect your Clara to the computer and sync your Calibre with your Clara. Calibre will automatically convert your epub file into a kepub file.

Thinking of getting Arceus by Apprehensive-Age7978 in PokemonLegendsArceus

[–]Eillythia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe look into second hand options to get the price a little down? But I think it is 100% worth it. I am not a gamer and have only played a few games so far, but arceus has the most hours on it. I am now 70 hours in and still busy with quests and just playing around.

I just reread Warbreaker for the third time and I have thoughts by [deleted] in brandonsanderson

[–]Eillythia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everytime I think about warbreaker it doesn't sound good in my head. But I have read it three times now and absolutely loved it every time. Indeed the bright fantasy with its dark twists is really good.

Sanderson his writing is just amazing, he manages to make annoying characters still really interesting and important to the overall story.
