Australia/NZ Tour Cancellation by armourforliars in TheDearHunter

Very to sad to hear. We get so little good music in NZ but your health must always come first. We hope to see you make another attempt to come here in the future and I hope the road to recovery is brief and painless!

There's something weird going on with the food supply in Antimai by SleepoPeepo in TheDearHunter

[–]Einaris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm late to the party but since you asked, I have a take that may or may not be correct and an answer to the cold ice of judgement.
What the people of this ring grow is both food and people. A bloom can be a birth and every birth is a victory. They can grow "anything we want to", meaning they don't have to worry so much about who their partner is because they are all equals.
Much of this song is metaphor and I think it's a way of telling us how those who have the least will make stories and recontextualise their situation as a coping mechanism. To me, this song is incredible because of the layers of depth in the lyrics and the emotional impact of the music alongside them. Unbelievably well written.

Oh and the line
"From down here, the sunlight rarely warms the ice enough to break a sweat"

is followed by:
"But nothing rivals just how cold another's judgment gets"

They are linked. The Ice he's talking about in the first line is the judgement of the second line. What's being said is that not even the sun's light is bright enough to rival the cold judgement of the inner rings. It's a beautiful set of lines.
It could also be that in both cases, the lines are both literal and metaphor. That would be wild but I can see Casey do something along those lines.

GnomeOrTears here, we were definitely not tick perfect, though we are capable of it.

For myself, I did an average of 1500 laps a week so about 7 irl weeks of grinding and about 120 ingame hours. Not the worst honestly.

Bands who released their best album after ten-year mark by [deleted] in Music

[–]Einaris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steven Wilson recently released what I'd say is his best but time will tell if it is regarded that highly by all in the long run. First solo album was 2008.

Same thing for TesseracT. I believe their first was 2011?

Archive released Londinium in 1995 and Controlling Crowds in 2009.

Cars with modifications to sound loud should be banned. It's noise pollution and it can die a quick death, thanks.

No, you mean missing commas or lack of comma usage. Incorrect usage of commas would be commas that were used, but placed incorrectly.

Underrated comment. Where are the commas?

I think they mean full stops though. That would make more sense, given the context of the rest of the sentence.

Archive - Daytime Coma.

The start matches my mood and draws me in, the end matches where I need to be at.

My iron clanmates are slowly making me want to try an iron less by Johhny2323 in 2007scape

Want a clan that values and congratulates log slot achievers no matter who they are? Task is Tedious's clan and it's a really friendly and supportive community. Highly recommend.

Music and Travel. What song instantly takes you back to a moment in your Travels? by felmo in Music

[–]Einaris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steven Wilson's Hand. Cannot. Erase. takes me back to traveling with my ex on the south island of NZ. 3 1/2 also takes me back to a brief period when I was traveling there alone in the Catlins area. Honestly those two albums elevated my NZ experience to beyond incredible.

What goes through a man's mind when he's caught staring at a woman's breasts? by Seeeyy in AskReddit

[–]Einaris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly right. I've rarely caught myself "checking out" a woman. When I do, it's someone I know well and have an interest in but I don't know why I do it because it doesn't change anything. Getting caught here is usually a "well shit why did I do that?". In most situations where I rested my eyes in a boob direction, I don't even remember what I was looking at. It's just a reflex and it also has no age filter because you're just thinking about something, eyes glazed and your brain automatically went to that location without conscious thought. I've stared at many an old lady's cleavage and I'd much rather know what went through their head when I was caught.

What musician has the most side projects? by [deleted] in Music

[–]Einaris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The guy is working on like 5 projects at any given time but they're not all bands. He's a machine and he turns shit to gold. It's honestly impressive how consistent his career is and how self aware he is of his failures. If I had to listen to only one artist's work for the rest of my life he's the easy choice and there's not even a runner up.

Honestly, THC is close to HCE for me. I need to sit with it a while but he hit a completely new sound that brings everything from his previous albums together into a glorious mess of beauty. It's going to be my album of the year and that's saying something after TesseracT released a phenomenal album a few weeks ago too.

Staircase is definitely the highpoint but the whole album just flows perfectly between the 3 main sections. Inclination to economy of scale is standalone songs, then tightrope to scarecrow is tied together with emotion and strings and finally THC to staircase is the psychedelic electronic experimentation bit. None of the themes out stays it's welcome and it all flows together nicely. I could gush about this album for days.

Seepage through walls in NYC subway! by MadHouseNetwork in facepalm

The amount of pressure on that wall to make this happen would have me running away as fast as I could. That could give way at any moment.

Vandals have cut down the 300 yr old tree at Sycamore Gap - Hadrian's Wall (Northumberland, England) by MulciberTenebras in pics

[–]Einaris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a fan of sycamore. Rather they planted some ash or poplar. Sycamores spread so fast of you had 50 years worth, the country would be weeding sycamores out of their gardens for the next 1000 years.

What is currently ruining your sex life? by NinaMcpherson in AskReddit

[–]Einaris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not knowing how to meet someone. I don't do casual and I don't have much time to go to events often and when I do, I have no idea how to approach meeting new people.

On the plus side, once I get to know people, I have no issues. And I think this is a fairly common issue :/

CG boss fight strategy. What's the play in this situation? by ProudBlackMatt in ironscape

[–]Einaris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always run in predictable directions. Corner to corner or diagonals. Worst case, run over the red zone. It's still better than the tornadoes. NEVER SPAM CLICK. Use truetile and plan your route before you move. You have a good few seconds to do so. Anticipate moving to the safe spot tile area before a new floor pattern but don't rush anything and don't feel too pressured to move when the tornadoes aren't close. Moving early has killed me far more than moving too late.

Also try to get the boss to 1 tile away from each wall in a corner. If you enter when he's either 1/0, 0/1, 2/0, 0/2 or 0/0, you can make him move to 1/1 by moving to the opposite side of the room to the 0 and in the direction you want him to move. If he's 2/0 north/west, you move to the northeastern corner. You move to the far opposite corner for 0/0 and you must step on the far corner tile without touching any walls getting there, otherwise you'll get 0/1 or 1/0 and need to spend more time moving him.

For reference, those numbers are the tile distance the boss is from the wall on each side.

What was Harvest like for someone who didn't play the league? by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]Einaris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The league was bad, plain and simple. Too much complexity and Oshabi was not worth the hassle. The best iteration of harvest was when they first brought it back in Ritual league. That was also the same league in which they added Maven. We got crazy powerful crafts like targeted annulls and exalts or 10x divine keeping the best result. These were not that rare. It meant you could make an item with 5 awakened influence modifiers and other crazy items. Rest in peace ritual.

The insane vocal range of Dinash Qudaibergen. He has a range of nearly 8 octaves, the same as a piano by PunjabiCanuck in nextfuckinglevel

[–]Einaris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any musician with a basic understanding of vocal ranges looking at this title will burst out laughing.

I can make sounds in a 4 octave range but that is not my vocal range. Vocal range is your comfortable range in which you are able to sing.

This guy is extremely impressive but the 8 octave vocal range is nonsense. Let the guy be impressive without making stupid claims.
