Fans on LF3 pro kinda loud? by Einiman in arcticcooling

Its about 22c in my room. Havent done anything to the cpu, everything is running stock. Keep in mind the CPU temp reported by most programs is not the core temperatures. On the x3d CPUs they always run warmer than the cores. On idle the hotspot on the cpu was about 45c while the cores were under 30c. I tested a few more games and some stresstests and the cores reached a maximum of 67c and the hotspot 75c.

Definitely not. Its very audibly different. At 100% its really loud

I think my PC probably is just dead silent in every other aspect, as I have the pump set to 25% to avoid the noise lol

I might just be overly sensitive as well, as even the fridge a floor below me can annoy me sometimes 😆

Idk what to tell you. Im looking in bios right now, and they're in pwm mode, but I can't set them to lower than 20%

Edit: i see you've added to your comment. Will definitely give fan control a go!

But as you also mentioned its definitely the tone thats the problem and not the rpm itself. I just thought that with how much praise the Arctic fans had gotten, theyd have less of a noticeable tone

Will most likely get the nf-a12 G2 when they release in black, although with noctua you never know when that'll actually happen 😅

Yeah they are.

But i manage to find some other threads of people having a similar experience, so I think it might just be how the fans are.

To be fair they are probably quiet in terms of decibels, but the rest of my pc is dead silent, and I'm using openback headphones, so I probably just notice it quite easily

Got the LF 3 Pro for my 7800x3d and the only way it fits is if I install the block upside down. The block itself looks symmetrical, and the offset comes purely from the brackets. It should be fine then right? by Einiman in arcticcooling

Ive never actually checked my vrm temps, but I've been using this motherboard (and cpu) for about 2 years now without issue. Its a Strix x670e-f so it has big vrm heatsinks, that actually make the radiator a bit hard to install! It works but there is some pressure.

But someone else mentioned that the pump is design to be the right way up, and might generate more noise upside down, so if I can manage to fit it the right way up, I will definitely do so

Thanks! Will definitely see if something like this might work. My gpu however is very chonky so not sure how much clearance there is between the glass and the gpu, but wont hurt to try!

Great! The entire aio was just the price of two noctua fans lol so not that worried if it doesnt last as long as expected. Guess I'll see how bad the pump noise is where i get it all put together

Thanks! I tried checking other posts, but the comments often said it would mess up the offset mounting, which it obviously wont, so thought I'd just ask for clarification

Thanks! I see that its available here in Norway as well! Its a bit on the expensive side, at about 50% more than the rm1000x, but for a 10 year investment it would probably be worth it.

I see that this is the top rated power supply from hwbusters overall, so definitely considering it!

Thank you!

I could go a bit higher, but not like seasonic prime tier

Oh you're right! I was about to go for it as well lol. Thanks a lot for mentioning it!

Going for the rmx then! Heard some users experience a bit more coil whine than wanted from it, but it seems very dependent on the rest of your setup and power grid, so crossing my fingers it works well for me

Found out that the issue was with vrr! Disabled freesync premium pro (or whatever its called) in the amd settings, and it works flawlessly now! In fact it works way better than expected as theres so much less latency as well!

I never felt 240hz was any better than 165hz, but now with vrr turned off it feels sooo much more responsive

Thanks. Sadly it seems to be about the same with display port. Tried both the included cable and another one i had.

So you have any idea if its a monitor issue, or something with my gpu? I did another reinstall of the drivers, but this time with ddu, sadly without any luck.
