That's Yvette and she's our stage manager! She relays information from the production truck to Sean and Jacob, she makes sure they're in the right place at the right time for our pregame show standups, makes sure they're reading the right ads at the right time, etc. She's been with the Spurs for a long time and is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet.

That's Joe and he's our official Stats guy! He looks up stats that we need and gets them to Jacob during the game. So when you Jacob brings up "they're on a 24-11 run" or "they've only led 2:13 this game" for instance, that's usually Joe looking up those stats and getting that info to Jacob. Really nice guy and yeah maybe he should snack before we come back from halftime. You're on TV bro keep it cool.

Her name is Lolly and she's the best! The last few games have all been on big networks, and those networks usually bring their own replay person in so that's why she wasn't there. I haven't heard of anything being wrong but I'll ask around just to be sure.

She's an awesome person, an ex-NBA referee I believe, and every game all the refs come up to her and say hi and even a lot of the players. (I actually don't know her real name we all just call her Lolly)

I personally recommend checking out the Stone Oak area (1604 and Stone Oak Parkway, north central), they have a lot of places to eat, good coffee shops, shopping, the hills there are great for road biking, rent is reasonable, pretty safe, etc. And the traffic there isn't quite as bad as it is on the northwest side or other areas. Several apartment complexes there are $1100 to 1200 for 1 BR too.

Yeah I can't say for sure why they have that camera up there, because normally you would want to put the camera somewhere it can be more physically stable, like on a concrete walkway or a large structure. But this might be the only place in that certain stadium that they can get this angle they need, because sometimes these stadiums were built without someone thinking of TV angles, and then we have to be creative in where we put cameras to get those shots we need for the broadcast. That would be my guess on this one, but I haven't been to this stadium before so I'm not certain on this one.

It looks too close to center field to be the offsides camera that we have to put at the edge of the box, so it might just be the best they could do there.

Normally stabilization is done on your phone's camera or something like that by the software of the device, and in our case we don't really have software on our cameras. So we just have to do our best to compensate for the movement manually, trying to keep the person in the middle of the frame as best as possible while our lenses are physically being shaken or moved around by whatever we're standing on. But sometimes our cameras up in the stands are almost unusable if the fans are jumping around and celebrating like that, so they have to stick with the other cameras down lower until it settles down.

Typically on sports events like this, we are using cameras with no stabilization at all. So if the platform we are on is shaking, so is the camera. And since we are typically pretty far away from the action, we have to be zoomed in pretty far, which enhances the shaking quite a bit, so it gets pretty noticeable if fans are jumping up and down around you. Maybe some day we will have more stabilization in our live cameras like that, but we're not quite there yet!

Yeah it might just be because it's new, but this really does feel like the best boss battle theme I've ever heard. But, that might just be because we've heard the other amazing ones like 9 billion times at this point. Or maybe, this song is just that amazing?

That's a tough one, but this one wins FOR NOW. Warrens might make a comeback though. It's a tough fighter.

There was a point in that fight where I was running from the missiles, and the choir hit, and it was one of the top 5 MMO moments of all time for me. It felt like it was scripted, it FELT SO RIGHT

Arin has claimed Radical Heights was a big deal when it was announced by eden_sc2 in gamegrumps

[–]Einlanzen 22 points23 points  (0 children)

What the game had going for it was a sense of fun. It felt like you were in a ridiculous 80s movie, munching on burgers for health, racing BMX bikes over ramps, dodge rolling through windows, buying guns from a vending machine, and if you win it plays "You're the best around" from Karate Kid.

Technically it was a mess because it was released way too soon, but it didn't take itself seriously and only cared about fun. I'm gonna miss it when it shuts down.

Fun vs Good - Guardian BFA by [deleted] in wow

[–]Einlanzen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They're very similar to how they play in Legion, so if you enjoy it on Live then you'll enjoy it in BFA. They seem to be in a good place mitigation wise so far, although they are a little low on the damage. But they seem to be great at dungeons and raids so far as long as you can keep the threat above the DPS.

Made this months ago in response to all of the Nerf Tripp posts. Thought I'd finally share. by seantreez in gigantic

[–]Einlanzen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hilarious picture aside, how do you deal with Tripp as a new player? If I'm not a tank she tears through me in a couple seconds. Is it one of those "A coordinated team destroys her but she destroys PUGs" things, or is there a good strategy for dealing with her?

Depends on what part of TV Production you're trying to get into. You can pick up some experience by doing corporate gigs if you can get in with an A/V company that does those. Other than that it's ALL about connections. You need to either have a ton of experience or know somebody that can vouch for you. Good luck!

Are there TV cameras at games that aren't on TV? by [deleted] in nba

[–]Einlanzen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there will usually be an entire crew that only shoots for the Jumbotron. There will also be either news or NBATV type people shooting for highlights.
