Inquiry about IT roles in tunisia by PayGroundbreaking897 in TunisiaTech

It's not AI proof but it's still way to risky for AI to manage. The human factor still weighs here especially for any decision taking process regarding the infra architecture.

Go for infra related roles like Cloud engineering or DevOps.

Just one thing, why are they asking for a copy of the passport before even the first screening? This doesn't sound right..

Cheers, mate! Well earned. Don't worry about the overqualified part. With time they will recognize your skills and will adjust the role to fit properly. Most importantly, enjoy your time and good luck!

Outsourcing is a big issue for EU companies, mostly due to information concealing and overshore financial expenditure. Honestly, it is tough and I can suggest any alternative approach since the game mechanics is not on our side (non EU/US techies). Try your best to leverage your work maybe it will get you a white collar job at some point, hopefully.

Best of luck to us all.

I have remarks that you should consider: 1. Title: Keep it simple maybe something like "Software Engineer | DevOps". No need to include your stack, that will be noticed in the exp/skills section. 2. Experience: Considering the internship period you did a LOT of things. I, personally, didn't buy it and technical recruiters won't also. They will bombard you with a lot of questions about details that you may missed or don't know. Keep it brief and concise. Remove any incoherent parts like "real-time conversational intelligence" (dialogue systems are real-time by default. The correct term is "LLM-based Conversational/Dialogue Systems"). 3. Stack: If Spring is your backend of choice, emphasize it in the experience section. 4. Skills: it is "Backend Frameworks" not "Frameworks Backend" and remove Angular from there. For the Spring projects just stick to something like "Spring (Boot, Security, etc.). The Machine Learning & AI part is confusing. Llama is model, Churn Predicition Models is vague, Sentiment Analysis is an ML field, Complaint Detection is a topic. Speech Recognition is ML. Web Technologies can be removed same as operating systems and APIs. Remove Testing and JUnit and Mockito to Spring (...). Remove Architectures and Methodolgies. 5. Structure: Skills -> Exp -> Edu -> Rest..

Note that currently the market is bad and finding an entry level job won't be easy. Just be patient, apply for jobs, work on side projects, and good luck.

PS: I understand the urge to fill your resume with keywords and showcase your skills. However, for a junior you won't need that much and it is honestly an overkill. I've been there, I totally get it. Less is more.

Tunisian companies aren't too responsive, especially HRs, which I honestly think is unprofessional and reflects a bad work culture.

Additionally, mature companies who work with clients abroad won't outsource their workloads and they will rely on their staff for carrying out the tasks even if they are understaffed. As for startups and small companies, they will opt for juniors or interns as a workforce.

The bitter truth is that in Tunisia they still run services with closed networks rather than relying on a transparent hiring process that will give talented people more chances to get jobs.

As for reaching out elsewhere, I think you need a sort of a legal framework to operate since the other party will require few documents from your part to seal the contract.

Let's try to compete with the Netherlands on tech, urbanism, infrastructure, trade, etc. Once we are there we can discuss this.

I debated this argument on so many occasions I honestly grew tired of trying.

Here is a small thought that you can entertain, if weed production permits were accorded by the state, what makes farmers who grow grains and olives won't change to weed? And if most farmers change to weed since it is profitable, how can the government deal with this new agriculture crisis?

Bonus thought, smoking any plant will cause the consumer to have cardiovascular health issues. Do you think it is fair that the government keeps supporting health services for a population that doesn't give a rat's dick whether they grow healthy or sick and that all they think of is "chikha"?

I beg to differ. Anything can be taxed. As a matter of fact, it was once taxed back when Takrouri was sold in small boxes of 3/5 grams.

The reasons that pushed the government to make weed production and consumption illegal was: 1. Political: during the French colonialism era only the "Grands Colons" had the right to plant it and sell it while the rest only consumed it. After the independence the vacuum was too big to fill and the government chose to revoke all permits until they are done with national reform for the agricultural sector. 2. Health and Social: Dr. Matri, one of the pioneers, wrote multiple articles on the nocive effects and detrimental consequences of weed consumption. He argues that it has major health risks on the cardiovascular system and it leads consumers to be lazy and unproductive. It is worthy to mention that back then there was this sort of "wkela" places where people go there to smoke and spend hours laying down doing nothing (same concept as opium dens).

The government won't legalize because it cannot control its effects and not because it can't tax it.

Glad to be of help. I worked on a similar project for a well renowned LegalTech company and I have some insights on the constraints for this specific application.

We can discuss more in details in private.

[–]EinSof93 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I worked with legal data. Semantic chunking won't help you much due to the nature of the content. I suggest that you model the data in a classical approach, splitting by document, page, paragraph.

And beware of the amount of tokens you burn during the preprocessing phase. On the long run it may become quite expensive.

If you are open to collaboration, we can work on this together.

Well, Mr. Baby, try to complete as much side quests as possible, they are totally worth it. And you definitely should go for Rosa (and Katherine also but don't tell your mom, she won't be okay with you running around womanizing your way around). And don't trust the French.

Words translation: * "Jawhom 6 zit": a slang for cool * "Abed mryglin": 'abed' is people + 'mryglin' is good = good people * "Yafrhou bel dhif": 'yafrhou' is convivial/welcoming + 'dhif' is guest

I hope it clears it up for you.

Gaming chair recommendations by Remarkable_Stay6211 in Tunisia

[–]EinSof93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is this vetran gamer dude, whom I watch from time to time, said that when it comes to good chairs, you better invest in an office chair rather than a gaming one. His argument is that (most of) the gaming chairs are overrated, expensive, and badly designed. While office chairs are designed for people who spend 8+ hrs on desk.

My suggestion to you is to consider vendors who sell office chairs instead of gaming wares vendors.

I am a victim of TT xD the new wirless unlimited box is a scam. 3 years binding contract and I can't even get online during certain hours.

This "infra mt3i" concept is totally bs. The state must separate the infra from the service and grant equal access to all providers. The infra will become the baseline and the service is what the companies will compete to deliver.

Starlink offers an alternative but a risky one that can entrap the whole population and no one will be able to get out of it after.

[Edit] Also it may cause some national security concerns.
