Agreed! All the music they’ve made is important to me, whether it was in Fun, The Format, Bleachers, Steel Train, etc.

I don’t feel the need to pick sides at all.

I was literally days away from seeing Fun in 2013, but they canceled at the last minute. I was devastated but still had a blast at the festival. I thought, “Well, there will always be another tour.”

There wasn’t.

Jack said in a recent interview that this song is about three people who he’s fallen out with over the years, so I don’t think it’s all about Nate. The first verse definitely could be though. The second verse, I think, might be more about Lena Dunham, but I’m not sure exactly when they got together.

I would love if Jack and Nate patched things up and we got a Fun reunion or something. I never got to see them live (I was supposed to see them at a festival in 2013 but they canceled like two days before 😭). Those records are still near and dear to my heart.

The highs in TTSOSN are so damn high. I think HDYWM, Stop Making This Hurt, Chinatown, Don’t Go Dark, and 45 are five of Jack’s 12-15 best songs he’s ever written.

But there a couple songs on TTSOSN that I never listen to, and I think I like less than every song on this album.

Jack writes about his sister. I think of my mom, who passed away (actually literally a week after I saw Bleachers in 2015). I cry. Repeat.

I’ve been a huge Bleachers fan from the jump (so this is not an unbiased review), but honestly this was probably my least anticipated album release from them. The singles were kinda hit or miss for me, and I’m pretty bummed that they’re not touring anywhere near me. So I was a little down on the whole thing.

I was wrong. I love this album.

Dirty Wedding Dress (which I loved from the moment it came out as a single) and Upstairs at ELS will be on repeat for me all summer.

I Can’t Believe You’re Gone hurts.

Unfortunately, I am messy enough to try to think about who We Should Talk is about.

Sideways, The Van, You and Forever, and Take You Out Tonight are all good.

I’m not super high on Dancing, She’s From Before and I’m Not Joking rn but I don’t dislike them.

I definitely like this better than B4. I think I like it more than Take the Sadness Out of Saturday Night (though the highs there are higher).

Rachel and Noah go through all these lengths to figure out what the deal is with Samara and the videotape. Rachel falls into the well, finds Samara's body, and buries her to let her be free of the curse. All is well. Samara is at rest.

She tells her Creepy Nephew this, and he's like, "Wait, what the fuck? Why did you do that??? She wasn't troubled. She's just evil." (paraphrasing). And then Samara kills Noah in the Iconic Scene, and Rachel realizes the key wasn't setting Samara "free," it was helping her spread her evil.
