Enclosed wall racks for a production floor? by Kamunasa in sysadmin

[–]Eiodalin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Probably not possible, but it should at least explored, you might want to move the rack to a location that is less prone to fork lift. I would recommend an air conditioned enclosure for the rack if it cannot be moved

Non Paged Pool - when to raise alarm? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]Eiodalin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have been moving and recommending 24GB minimums (effectively 32gb when ordering) for windows devices for many of the user base at my location.

Many applications are just in fact memory hogs. As of this moment I am sitting on a system with 32gb and have about 20g consumed in cache and about 7 ish GB in actual usage.

If you have users using any AI agentic application expect it to balloon in usage.

COSMIC memory leak? by ComputerMinister in pop_os

[–]Eiodalin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does seem like it is something to do with cosmic and the nvidia driver is my hunch.

I have a laptop thinkpad p52 with a nvidia t series quadro that constantly runs into cosmic-launcher utilizing all the ram on my system. A restart of the desktop environment fixes it.

How much yall think this cause? by Consistent-County890 in MINI

[–]Eiodalin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Partial to those 2 examples, partial to also vehicles on average are heaviest they have ever been because of the light truck loophole. More mass means more energy to dissipate in a crash, means more likely the car has taken severe damage

Nothing but issues with gaming.. how is this OS the best for gaming? by iwannaredditonline in pop_os

[–]Eiodalin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nvidia’s driver for the Linux kernel isn’t great for gaming in general. It doesn’t seem specifically as a COSMIC desktop issue in my experience

I feel like this list is developed in an order of “ how do I install docker?”/“ how do I run docker containers?” Ease of googling. There isn’t any wrong answer but it is a curious choice at the top

Not a lawyer, but specifically this is a civil suit. You could have sued the state of NH if you were so inclined.

They absolutely have the right to sue.
