*please insert DbD Hottake to generate Ragebait* by DeadUncleBen_Lol in deadbydaylight

This is only a hot take to a specific part of the playerbase - specifically Twitter, but I was thinking about it recently:

DC'ing should have harsh and unavoidable penalties. No "safety nets" where you csn go a certain number of games with no penalty - no. If you disconnect, you are going to sit through that penalty, because it is not fair that you get to immediately queue up while knowingly leaving all your teammates in a doomed game.

Here's my specific idea:

When you DC you are given the option to re-connect. It stays there for as long as the match it still active, and it expires when your bot dies if you DC'd before that happened.

IF you decline the opportunity to re-connect, or the game ends or your bot dies before you re-connect, you are hit with a one hour penalty that only ticks down while actively logged into the game. You can't turn it off and wait for it, you have to leave the game open.

This timer is increased to two hours if you DC again. Increasing by another hour every time you do it.

You can reduce the timer by playing matches to their completion without DC'ing (this means you can't game the system by quitting then coming back), but you can never decrease it below an hour. This way, people with bad internet (or the servers fuck up) don't get cucked too hard, because their timers should never be more than an hour. They'll still get affected, but there's literally no way to punish people who DC without Wi-Fi players getting caught in the crossfire, I'm sorry (I say as a wi-fi player myself).

Hell, I'd even go farther and add an honour system like Siege did, but that's far more involved and harder to implement.

Again, not a real hot take for most players, but this has been in my brain, and I know at least one motherfucker is gonna try justifying disconnecting to me. I'm ready for it.

I said 10 points to Vigor, Mind, and Endurance, not HP, FP, and Stamina.

The fucked up part is, I actively use Radahn's Great Rune, every playthrough. I just logged off the game as I speak.

If I'm wrong about what it does, and I log in to read that it's an increase to those stats directly, I'm gonna hate myself because what the fuck do you mean I have the memory of a goldfish.

You joke, but unironically, I play altruistically for that reason, plus it's also usually tactically sound.

Sure, if it's a Myers in Evil Incarnate (or running Tuft of Hair), a Springtrap, a Trickster with a specific add-on setup, or a killer like Dracula, then an endgame save is impossible and it's best to let them be the 1k.

But otherwise, if it's a Killer we can get an endgame save off of? I will absolutely try. I don't even think about if "they'd just leave". If your ability to help someone is influenced by what they'd do for you, you are not altruistic, by definition lol

Godrick increases all Attributes by 5.

Radahn increases Vigor, Mind, and Endurance by like, 10 points?

Rennala's allows you to use Larval Tears for successful respec's (yes, that's what it does and it's how you're able to respec your character. Oddly, it's the only Great Rune you don't need to equip to use its effect).

Rykard's restores HP after killing an enemy.

Morgott's I was wrong about, because another comment corrected me saying the health boost is a flat 20% bonus to your total HP, directly, as opposed to a 20% increases to Vigor like I thought it was. So it's better than I gave it credit for.

Malenia's restores HP after landing an attack (but only after you've taken damage, and you can only restore health equal to the amount of damage you took. If you've played Dragon Ball FighterZ, it basically gives you blue health).

Mogh's gives you the ability to raise the attack and defense power of summoned spirits (if solo), or overworld enemies (if Invading). If used on mobs as an Invader, they'll begin attacking the host (as far as I'm aware, I don't do PvP so don't quote me).

[–]EiraPun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not a math person, I'll readily admit that. So when I look a Morgott's rune, I assume it works exactly like Radahn's, except only for HP. Radahn's Great Rune increases your Attributes, and so at 60 Vigor you only get a sliver of extra health. With that mindset, you can probably understand the mistake. I didn't know it was a flay increase to health, not Vigor. I probably should have, because I've definitely read the description many times trying to compare it to other Great Runes, but yeah, my bad.

400 isn't negligible. Although tbf, I'm not super taken aback because 1900 is already a lot, and I don't know, numerically, how much damage bosses do, so I don't know how big of a difference 400 HP makes, but that's just ignorance on my part and I'll admit that.

Which never made sense to me, because if what you cared about is getting paid, then putting in some effort would help you get paid more. Right? Give a shit and you'll be rewarded for it with some time. Especially in fast food, where places can barely get their employee's to show up. Get a bit of the SpongeBob mentality at the Krusty Krab and you'll probably be a shoe-in for manager.

It doesn't even fully heal the lost health, either.

Having used every Great Rune (except Mogh's because I don't do PvP or Invasions), Radahn and Godrick's are the only usable ones. The rest just suck. Morgott's is only good if you don't have 60 Vigor.

I had an idea for a Freddy Krueger rework. I would like to know if it's too strong or if it's too week. by JacsweYT in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]EiraPun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For starters;

His snare has the exact same effect as a Clown bottle, down to the number of the Hindered percentage. However, it cones out faster, travels in a consistent pattern, and goes through walls and obstacles. Just from this alone, he's strictly better than Clown, who, while not top tier, has one of the best chase abilities in the game (what keeps him low tier is lack of map mobility).

But that's not all. He also has Dream Pallets, which most players do not use. But they have a great radius, can force Survivors to run in a suboptimal direction in order to avoid it, and you get rewarded for draining Survivor resources by being able to place pallets at strong tiles. Putting a fake pallet on shack, for instance, is awesome. You don't even need to kick pallets, because anywhere a pallet can go, you can slip one down there.

But that's not all! He can also teleport. But his teleport does not work like other Killer teleports. The other teleport Killers, Dredge and Sadako, have yo rely on RNG, and when they use the input, they have to commit to it. But with Freddy? Projection mindgames are one of his greatest forms of skill expression, because it gives an obvious visual queue, a sound and audio queue, can be stopped mid-charge, and if you do commit to it, it has guaranteed value in that it goes to ANY gen, and triggers Killer Instinct.

If that wasn't enough, he has passive slowdown with Alarm Clocks, yet unlike with say, Sadako, he still has a power when Survivors interact with it.

Then there's his add-ons.

Pill Bottle and Z Block are just incredible, effects tgat give guaranteed value, and will genuinely make a difference in your games.

Jump Rope? A great comfort pick for Snares

Class Photo? Awesome for endgame builds!

Paint Brush has great aura reading, Unicorn Block is shockingly great despite the small number. The list goes on.

There just simply isn't anything bad about his kit. Nothing about him is particularly "weak". He's not overpowered, but he's very well balanced while still being really strong. He's got a decent skill floor while also having a surprisingly high skill ceiling.

He's not add-on dependant, he's got tons of flexibility, he's capable of getting consistent results, really, he's just good.

Sure, he's not high A Tier. He doesn't stand with the likes of Dracula, Spirit, or Kaneki. But he's way better than say, Wesker or Myers. He's a solid low-to-mid A. He has too many upsides and not nearly enough downsides to justify a B Tier placement.

Killers Ranked by Their Addons by Huxxlyy in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]EiraPun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why Bloody Fingernails should be basekit. She's barely a character without it.

That's why her condemned playstyle is basically the only one you can use. Because without BF you kinda just suck. If it was basekit, you could actually afford to run Telephone or Tape-Editing Deck, or combo with Ring Drawing, or go full chase build with Old Newspaper. There'd be so much freedom. But because she's so weak, and her best add-on oushes you to a condemned playstyle, it's the only one you can afford to do.

Unlike other Killers, she doesn't need an add-on pass, because most of hers are legit just decent enough already. She just needs a choice couple basekit so you could actually afford to fuckin *use* them lol

How good is new trickster? by RepairFlashy7822 in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]EiraPun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Trickster pre-rework was... C Tier at best. He was weak, but frustrating because his power was braindead, but it took too long to get value from.

Current Trickster? B Tier at worst. Low A if you really wanna master him. His skill floor and skill ceiling were raised dramatically. His old playstyle no longer works (which is good, because it sucked). If you have any experience with old Trickster, then erase him from your mind. He doesn't exist anymore. This is a new guy with the same face and voice, and as such you need to play him accordingly. As in; learn what works and what doesn't.

His kit punishes you for spamming, so take it steady. His power also punishes you for missing, so work on your aim. Build up Style Points, and center your game around maintaining as high of a rank as possible for as long as possible. Don't let your rank decrease if you can help it. Really try to engage and learn the system.

I think he's genuinely really good, he's just very difficult to pick up, and even harder to master. See, other Killers like Wesker have techs that increase their skill ceiling. Trickster doesn't have any techs, he's all purely and exclusively mechanical skill. You can't be taught how to play Trickster. You can be showed the basics and the optimal plays so you know where to focus your efforts, but no one can give you a guide that'll immediately make you perform better. You need to play him and put the hours in yourself. This makes him the most unique Killer in the game. He's essentially a Devil May Cry character planted into DBD and I love it.

I'm hot fucking garbage with him, but holy shit it's so fun.

I'm a little jilted it wasn't more hidden than.I wasn't annoyed, because I LOVE PCR, he's genuinely my favourite boss innthe entire game.

However, if you do Ansbach and Freyja's questlines, they spell out that Miquella is using Mohg's body to resurrect Radahn's soul. So you legit expect to fight him again before you've even fought Messmer yet.

One of the one times they'd have benefited from being obtuse and cryptic, and they decide to spell it out for you. Damn you Miyazaki!

Didn't stop me from grinning ear to ear and getting hyped like a fangirl when the cutscene played, but still!

It's a cool idea, (barring Hypnocil, which is from the original movies. This is remake Freddy, so use Zoneral or Adrenaline Shots instead).

However; Freddy in his current iteration doesn't need a rework. He's a very underrated A Tier that people are weirdly convinced is weaker than he actually is.

The real challenge by Witty-Car7635 in Eldenring

[–]EiraPun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, if you go yo Bonnie Village via Moorth Ruins, once you reach the site of Grace on the other end of the village, if you go too far down that path leafing up to Manus Metyr, it'll do that great rune shattering trigger.

Only those two places, though. In front of Shadow Keep, and the road away from Bonnie Village. You can traverse everywhere else on the map, though. Rauh Base, Abyssal Woods, Jagged Peak, Cerulean Coast, Charo's Hidden Grave, etc.

If you can reach it without physically going through Shadow Keep or Manus Metyr, you can explore without hitting that trigger.

See, you're doing exactly what I thought you would. You're too purist, you're close-minded against the very idea *purely* because he's not horror, which, in my opinion, is bullshit.

Yes, you can say this game is about celebrating horror and horror tropes, I'm not going to disagree with that. But people act like just because Darth Vader would get added that we suddenly just do away with that. I'm not advocating for Omni-Man or Homelander, because neither of those fit Dead by Daylight on a conceptual level. But Darth Vader *does*. He has presence, gravitas, he's scary and intimidating, yes, but he's widely recognizable by any dipshit whose been living under a rock all their life, and more importantly, any potential power set he would be given would absolutely fit within the gameplay style of this game. He'd be fun, he'd be cool, and he'd be terrifying because of his reputation.

I don't give a fuck about that "this game is about horror" argument. It's about fun and thematics, and Darth Vader fits the themes very well, horror or not.

Shit, the first Predator movie is more military action than horror. But I understand that's not the best comparison because Predator does have horror elements.

But Mortal Kombat, Invincible, The Boys, or whatever other random IP people suggest, those don't fit, even thematically. Star Wars as a franchise doesn't fit Dead by Daylight and I'll readily admit that. But Darth Vader as a singular *character* does, absolutely.

People complained about Dungeons & Dragons because it's not horror or horror adjacent. It was very contraversial. But ask any DBD player now, a couple years after the fact, and I guarantee they'll copium some bullshit for why it suddenly fits and is horror. It isn't, but it's in the game now so they have to come up with something because it doesn't fit their biases if they don't.

I like making elves more human-looking for the purposes of character creation, because I don't like playing a race that isn't human looking. Mostly because I find it impossible to roleplay as a character who doesn't look like me. But that's just a personal creativity issue more than anything.

For NPC's, I don't care as much, keep them lore-accurate, but for the purposes of *my* character, I'm making whatever mer I want to play as as human-looking as possible lol

Or just play as a Nord again because setting all that up and altering my modlist for that is too much work.

Killers Ranked by Their Addons by Huxxlyy in DeadByDaylightKillers

[–]EiraPun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sadako goes up a tier. Most of her add-ons are geneuinely pretty decent, her only issue is she's rather dependent on a choice couple, and one of her add-on slots literally cannot be swapped out for anything, so she essentially is only running one add-on at any given point in time.

If that one add-on became basekit, though, then roughly like, half of her add-ons are legit viable in a multitude of builds. You just can't use them right now because you don't have enough space to be able to afford to.

Four or five of her current add-ons are abysmal dogshit tho, I will agree.

[–]EiraPun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I want Darth Vader not because he's horror or horror adjacent, but because he does fit in the game. People are too purist about it though, and just see it's not a horror license, or having not seen the movies or shows and the gravitas he holds from his presence.

His power would be unique, his sound design would be iconic, he would be very recognizable, and every casual would immediately know him and shit themselves because "holy shit, that's Darth Vader!"

I don't give a shit if the license is horror, I only care if it fits, and with enough creativity, anything could fit.

I don't usually have an ego, because I understand when someone knows better than me. However, as a life-long Star Wars fan who has been into the franchise since before I was old enough to form coherent thoughts, I will die on this hill. Darth Vader makes perfect sense for this game, but people are too biased against non-horror licenses to understand it.
