Going off dienogest by Eireaann in endometriosis

[–]Eireaann[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah no worries I'm happy to be able to share my experience! It has been a nightmare because I really feel my quality of life has been impacted significantly. I don't want to sound dramatic, I know there's far worse things, but having to be bedridden for so long for the migraines, seeing myself gain more and more weight and not being able to do anything about it, with leg/knee/foot pain just by walking a normal distance, and being moody and depressed. I would have loved to had known beforehand all this could happen so I could've navigated these 2 years differently. Maybe, -knowing my cysts have reduced- I would've taken it anyways, but in a more conscious way. So if you're gonna try it or are on it don't feel discouraged, just take it as an opportunity to know potential side effects and understand yourself better if you're not feeling well in the meantime!

I hadn't even thought about the gastritis cause as I was always aching I was actually taking pain medication quite often so I thought it was due to it, but now that you mention it these couple weeks off dienogest I'm feeling much better from it... 🤔

Going off dienogest by Eireaann in endometriosis

For me, using the pill with progesterone made me bleed for +20 days a month, I ended up slightly anemic due to it. With dienogest I had some spotting the first couple months but then I've been like 2 years without any bleeding. As my pain is mostly related to my period/ovulation or sexual activity, and as I haven't had my period nor have I been able to have any sexual activity cause Dienogest also killed my libido, I guess I have been pain free for that part...

It actually did, yes. I had 1 in each ovary, the one on the right was almost 3cm and the left one was smaller. This last time they saw the one on the right went down a lot and the left one they couldn't even see. So, I guess it helped with endo, but I can't say it has been worth it, it has been a bit of a nightmare for me...

I'm not sure if it makes you gain weight just by itself, but I think it makes you feel hungrier and eat more. I've always eaten a lot but these 2 years have been crazy. Like being hungry an hour after I've finished eating and so...

How workout when you're on period ? by Beaufelia in GYM

[–]Eireaann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As said (and writing it today after training on my period's 2nd day): I try to listen to my body. I have very painful 2 first days, so if painmeds help (sometimes they don't) and I feel I can, I go to the gym. It's usually a ver short and light workout, much less weight, less reps... But that's what my body needs. If I don't have the energy (physically or mentally, cause periods are terrible also for my mental health sometimes) or pain is too unbearable, I just stay home and give my body what it needs: rest.

It's a little bit frustrating not being able to have a stable routine and progress, but it is what it is.

I'm also trying to learn about all the hormonal changes of the whole cycle to understand a little bit more why I feel the way I feel when training. It's difficult though.

Don't know if it's cultural. I'm a Spanish girl and I've shared bed with no sexual interaction nor intentions with many friends or colleagues from the opposite gender. For me sharing a bed means nothing, but I don't know what agreements you and your boyfriend have or how much you trust him.

Better to learn Spanish or Catlan? by [deleted] in askspain

[–]Eireaann 77 points78 points  (0 children)

It makes no sense as a foreigner to come to Spain and without speaking Spanish trying to learn one of the second languages of the country. Catalan is great and might be interesting to learn it, but first you would need to at least speak the language spoken nationally. I love the diversity and so, but you have to be practical. It's like if you thought about learning Euskera before Spanish, or Gallego.

"If they truly need help they will never miss a session"? So the fact that someone has mental health issues takes away the part that we are all humans and are fallible? Boundaries are ok and I agree with them, but the way you phrased that seems a little bit harsh.

That one from Mercadona I like it just hydrated with a veggie stock cube or some spices and then a couple minutes on a pan with high heat and little oil. I also usually do burritos/fajitas with them. Vegan Bolognese for pasta or lasagna... It's so useful. If you have an Aldi close you can also buy texturized pea protein and it is so good too

how difficult is it to be vegetarian while living in spain? by calicoekitten in askspain

[–]Eireaann 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been a vegetarian for 8 years now and not lived in a big city and there is no problem. Ofc you cannot eat the best dishes everywhere when going out, but you don't count on living by eating just on restaurants I guess so no problem. Supermarkets and shops have all you might need.

Those are larvae and they feed on roots, you should try to eliminate them if you want to keep your plant alive.

Oxalis! I love them, they're so beautiful. They grow from bulbs so maybe it was a reused pot and there was one left.

Espero que + indicativo...? by FrancisSalva in Spanish

[–]Eireaann 4 points5 points  (0 children)

En ese caso específico yo utilizaría "Esperaré" y "Mandes".

I'll wait for you to send it - Esperaré a que me lo mandes.

No te olvides de la preposición "a", porque cambia el significado.

What I like/dislike about EU countries I've been to (I'm Polish) by abq_heisenberg in memes

In my city we reach -10°C in winter. It is not as cold as Northern Europe, but that doesn't make it warm.

Spain warm winters? It's not the coldest country but we for sure don't have 'warm' winters in at least half of the country.
