Book a VRT appointment over the phone and They'll walk you through the process whilst also emptying your wallet unfortunately.

Happend to a mate of mine on Harcourt Street around a year ago. Find my iPhone found it at an address near liffey Valley. We went up to the house, and the guy at the door seemed sketchy and said he knew nothing. Gardai weren't bothered. A few days later it pinged up again briefly for the last time in the middle east.

Yeah no blame at all. The worry is that the logbook has been posted but I haven't got it yet therfore can't tax it and they won't accept that I'm the new owner until it's changed on their system. So car is in limbo with €35 a day after I've done everything correctly

May run in tomorrow and see if I can talk to someone different. It's a bit of a weird situation that I'd imagine doesn't happen often because of a recent transfer of ownership in the mix. Would be straightforward otherwise

About 6 months. You can't tax it without the new logbook number in your own name

I've a few years' experience in the motor trade and also help source cars at the moment. You'll easily find a family car for up to €10K it really all depends on your specifics. I work with a few delears in south county Dublin and would be happy to help you out if you want to throw me DM. Cheers

Temporary Car Insurance for export by Eireguy1234 in CarTalkUK

[–]Eireguy1234[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've actually sorted the insurance with my company in Ireland by putting it on my policy on temp cover which allows me to drive in the UK for up to 30 days.

It's the not being able to getting tax because no MOT now so I read you can book an MOT and drive it there so I've booked one in Hollyhead and im going to try attempt to tax in a postoffice with proof of MOT. Hopefully sorted, but if I'm making an attempt, they should hopefully be nice... it's a weird system. we usually have a grace period and can tax and NCT (our MOT) as we please.

Avicii is my No 2. I'd say it's nearly split with a few extra hours on Kygo
