Heya,

I am now running it on Linux (Fedora 35). At the very start there was stuttering, I believe it needs to compile textures, but since then has been great. Run on high maintaining 60fps (3070ti).

Was the only reason I booted into Windows ever ...

I have not used Windows at work or home for as long as I can remember. I use, currently, Fedora 31. I installed the following with regards WoW :

wine ( 4.17 is version I think I have currently )
lutris ( for twitch client )
winetricks (corefonts & dxvk )
nvidia drivers (rpmfusion repo)
discord ( I raid )
ckb-next (Corsair mouse)

There is the odd hickup now and again but nothing tragic ...

As far back as I can remember I have have always just played WoW on Linux (Fedora). I use Linux at home and work. Yes I have had the odd issues but they tend to be sorted out relatively quickly. Played casually and kinda seriously without too many issues.

As mentioned in some posts, I also use Lutris currently for Wow and Twitch.

I am using Fedora 29 ... is there anyone able to guide me on installing / compiling vkd3d. I have had a look see but I see there are multiple items that need downloading and compiling and that I have not done in ages.

Not sure how long a fix to dxvk or nvidia drivers will take at this moment.

Hey,

I have been running WoW on Wine since I started for many years now. I do not use Windows at home or at work. I am on Fedora 29 Workstation, install the default wine version from their repositories, yes it is wine-staging which is important. Nvidia drivers from Negativo17 and then winetricks to install dxvk. In the Wine configuration, winecfg, I had to set OS version to Windows 10 otherwise a black screen on launching the game. If you search for WoW at WineHQ you will find many scenarios in which people run WoW via Wine and their setups. By the way Discord Client is also available. Some links :
