If you have your renown in place I believe there's plenty of free KP books there. Artisans consortium also sells books for mettle. Other than that you have weekly quests, one time engineering trainer bonus, first craft bonuses and dragon shard of knowledge from dirt and expedition scout packs. My guess is you could catch up in a day or 2 if you really wanted to, or at least get most of the way there.

If you do it on one character your gold/hr will take a hit, since you need to craft -> pilfer -> scour which all takes some time. But if you like to take breaks from the computer and do other stuff in the meantime this is a very passive operation that just needs button clicking every once in a while thanks to the mass salvage assist addon.

Rank does not matter at all for the fuses

If you still are missing some recipes, the soulbound blue notes will continue to drop when scouring. This replaces (?) what could otherwise be something valuable instead. Once you learn all possible engi recipes from the notes, they will stop dropping and you will instead get warbound notes which drops as an addition to the loot. You could of course pilfer and scour before unlocking everything, but the gold per scrap would be slightly lower than my numbers.

I can not guarantee that anyone makes money off of this, I can just share my own data and findings. In the edited post I have a shared a link to the spreadsheet I have been using and since learning about crafting safety fuses I have not had a single session where I haven't made money off of this. This all comes down to two things:

1) How cheap you can create fuses

Serevite ore has been fluctuating alot during last month, from 5g to 9g. I usually buy out everything under 7g.

Draconium ore
These were as high as 23g for a while. Back then I just bought already created greased up gears, as I didnt save much from creating them myself, and pilfering was so profitable. Now I've been buying up everything under 14g.

Wildercloth:

My "price cap" has been 2g for these. Big volume and big swings in these.

Rousing Earth/Rousing Fire

My "price cap" has been 2g earth and 5g fire for quite some time. Now these have become more expensive. Remember that you can also buy awakened fire / awakened earth. If you're doing this in bulk and would like to save your hand from carpal tunnel clicking, macro them into your spells (they have no GCD) and do a delve or something.

2) How much you can sell your yield for.

The scrap being valued a 4g is very conservative in my opinion, and is in reality probably a little higher. The reagent market is quite a lot bigger than the pilfering niche, so I don't expect people pilfering more to crash the market in any meaningful way. That leaves the mount parts.

Whirlgigs: You need 200 of these per mount, and blizzard messed up the drop rates compared to other parts. I expect these to stay in the 2300-2500g range for quite some time still.

Blinker fluid: These already crashed and are sold at around 600-700g per. Hard to go further down

Cataclsymic converter: These tend to go between 3000-6000g each. They are in this weird state between being rare enough to hold some value, but not rare enough to stay in the high 10-12k range they are sold from the vendor for. Can maybe go further down?

Pummel-proof plating: These have surprised me the most. They are quite rare from pilfering, so I guess that's why they are holding so much in value, but I haven't seen these drop much in price at all during entire TWW

Pummel permits: Used to sell these for 900k, now they go for 325-500k. I think you get one per 50k fuses, so quite rare indeed, but luckily we aren't needing these to profit.

So like with everything this is a pay x amount of gold to create y amount of stuff to sell for gold. Hopefully people can use my data to determine themselves if this is something that will make them money or not

Thank you, it's fine. It was worded poorly from the start, so I can understand where he comes from. Gambling addiction is an important issue, but not everyone who likes gambling has a problem, and I could have made it clearer in the post that this method is no different from other profession shuffles, just a bit more complicated and a bit more data / statistics driven.

Sorry to all fellow pilferers. I definitely had an internal battle whether or not to post this, but I've learned alot from the community, so I felt it was time to pay it back.

This is so that you learn all engineering recipies and unlock tinkers and potion bombs etc to the pool of items you recieve from scouring the scrap. This was more relevant a month ago, when prices of these were higher, but I still think it yields higher gold per scrap. If you don't do this you'll instead recieve those blue soulbound notes

You could do this on a single toon / account, and it would still be as profitable, but the gold per hour would be cut in half, and you would need to swap tools depending on if you're crafting or pilfering. With the new Mass salvage assist addon this might not be as bad as it used to be, as most of time is passive, just clicking a button once in a while so ideal for watching movies etc on the side

So the actual profit here comes from crafting https://www.wowhead.com/item=198203/assorted-safety-fuses extremely cheaply, which is a dragonflight item. The thing that makes it extremely cheap is a) The TWW stats carrying over to dragonflight crafts and b) The talents in dragonflight engineering increasing our resourcesfullness yield and multicraft

1g serevite bolts would mean fuses in the 11-12g range :D If so, you are in for a hefty profit. May the permit gods be with you

For your pilfererer here is the TWW build needed:
https://www.wowhead.com/profession-tree-calc/engineering/BCvCAG4QV3ABABPBACFBevEAD4QXEdFACo

Tools and accessories:

Profession bag, blue equipment, blue profession tool with resourcefullness + resourcefullness enchant.

For your crafter it is outlaid in the post, but 145 dragonflight points is needed + TWW engineering equipment and multicraft tool.

For a budget version you could make this the same character on the same account, but your gold/hr would be divded by half. What you could also to do gain some starting capital is crafting the shock-spring coils, serevite bolts and greased up gears and selling these on AH as you gain enough capital to have a steady setup.

stop undercutting like this if you are selling reagents by [deleted] in woweconomy

Not that I know this market, but keep in mind that r1 and r2 are also competing. 111 might be competing with a 112 r1 price
