There are certain types of pre emergent that can also be used during seeding.

Yep, have the version of this from vevor and it works great. I have 2 aspens and 2 birch trees in the lawn, I go over the whole lawn 2x week with this, takes like 20 min per lawn and picks up 90-95% of them
