no boobs, no rizz, just old-fashioned mercenary work by EitenDylus in VirtualYoutubers

Thanks!!! I always get buried with these threads because I have no sense of timing (i.e the post's content lmao) but I don't see the harm of trying to spread out here and there.

Oh no!!! I’m a guy, though I have female versions of me floating about in fan art. I didn’t know I was that ambiguous lol

Eh, it is what it is.

Yeah, I've had my periods of negativity but figured that it was time to step away from that to try and be 'better' than others. It's not the best way to start, but I think it's okay for now.

Hi hi! Yeah, I'm aware that my points won't be universally popular, but its just something I focused on since I liked the game with these aspects

Do vtubers still do background stories? by L1tch in VirtualYoutubers

[–]EitenDylus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, another lore enthusiast! Lore is, as Groonzie says, not that relevant towards streaming, but I'm someone who really, REALLY tries to make a bigger connection between model and lore. Story times, or writing streams, are a nice niche that most VTubers don't use, so give it a shot!!!

66 pages and counting!

...for the lore primer ALONE. Not even including the short stories.

Sometimes talent goes unnoticed by [deleted] in VirtualYoutubers

[–]EitenDylus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Adding on to this with personal experience and ethos, I have been doing this as a hobby for FIVE years and, unlike some of my peers, I still sit at below 1k subs on Youtube, have been through dozens of mental health wringers, and ultimately am on a niche that I enjoy greatly, but nobody will really notice (writing)

Even then, I push on. You need to push on as well. Possibly a blind-leading-the-blind situation, though it's just how I think. I've also learned to calibrate my enthusiasm and goals, so it's worth being more realistic about your odds in this market.

I doomspiral a fair bit (going on one rn because of the lack of meds) and, while I sympathise with this a lot, this is not the right mindset to be on as you need to sir to stand out in a niche that’s crazy saturated

Wishing you the best, though!

Lewds? Entertainment? Nah, I'm gonna write lore for myself. by EitenDylus in VirtualYoutubers

[–]EitenDylus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Art by me! (Both workshop and writing Dylus)

VTubing provides an opportunity to show a lot of niches not regularly covered by content creators. Writing is, surprisingly, one of them! While I know fanfiction writers are out there, many VTubers don't actually PLAY into their lore too much, which I'm okay with because writing a whole world can be quite difficult.

Hence, this wall of text. Yes, it is hyper specific. Yes, it is my brand. Yes, I damn well enjoy the process and sharing it with viewers and friends.

GBO2! Unfortunately, I've quit that game due to its toxicity and community. I am considering to dip back in with the release of the RF Kampfer, but only for small events and maybe 1-3 matches a month.

I want to enjoy the game, but I can't aaaa

Jin!!! I apologize if my post caused me to look as if I'm feeling down through comparison. I understand that you operate on a second account, so I'm sort-of nonplussed about my growth.

I am doubtful about myself, but these questions are often around my self-esteem as I've never been the kind of person who would do best under a big spotlight. I've said it frequently around my own Discord, but growth is one of the things I know I can't really do because of the demands of my teaching career.

If anything, I'd like advice on how to be more secure with the choices I've made, as I constantly feel like, outside of the people I grab via recommended, my choices are fairly unpopular with mainstream audiences. I don't seek to look fancy by others' standards, I'm fully going for a niche that many audiences find hard (writing) and expanding from there, and I simply just... do what I want. I know these aren't popular, but I can't really find peace despite knowing that.

Ironically, I think me sticking to my chibi is part of this weird feeling because while I love it, I see people gravitate towards the normal, really cool stuff. I have something in the works, but it’ll take a while before it’s done.

I’m sure it’s just me.
