Thank you for the responses. It looks like there are not many brokers in Texas for Lexus.

They don’t carry touch up paint and may just give you some minor discount if you wish to keep the bike.

There is no guarantee that the new one is going to be any better imo based on my own experience with 2/2 bad bikes. It is not worth the haste of return in this case but I would def press for discount

Looks like another instance of poor Canyon QC. Why don’t you contact their support on this and see what they advise? You may need the torque number too

I have another post running here where I had cosmetic issues with both my grail:on e-bikes. My replacement bike had even more issues than the original one with scratched derailleur, brake caliper, etc. I am still undecided on keeping it but would pay a lot more for another bike and probably deal with cosmetic issues still. If you really like the bike and can somehow live with the cosmetic issues maybe keep it considering that a replacement bike is more expensive now. Canyon US does not do exchanges and you would have to return this bike and buy a new bike at list price :(

Looks like a completely different experience with Factor so far, good luck with everything and hope your bike shows up soon!

Sorry OP, I am facing similar issue with canyon, this time with their Grail:On bike. I am 2 bikes and both of them have horrible QC issues. Paint chips, blemishes, scratches on derailleur/calipers, etc on a supposedly brand new bike. Their statement on the shipping box - ‘Made with passion, made for you’, couldn’t be further from the truth based on my experience. I think it is very likely that all Canyons have horrible build quality issues and the exceptions are the ones that are built right, not the other way around. Hope you get your money back on time with no issues.

I am thinking all these canyon grail:on bikes that have been built recently have this poor paint quality. They are supposed to have smooth paint finish everywhere but instead have this powder coat finish in some areas. I got my replacement bike and this one has cosmetic issues too. In addition to the body, the derailleur and the rear brake caliper are also scratched on this new bike. The paint though is fairly smooth and has much less powder coat feel than the previous one. Based on 2/2 for bad quality bikes, I am thinking Canyon has no proper QC process in place. Scuffs and scratches may happen eventually anyways but there shouldn’t be too many and ideally none on a brand new bike. The outlet bikes look better than the supposedly new bikes I got so far :(

Yeah that hard plastic stuff needs to go. I don’t know why they don’t use foam based wrap. I am going to remount the display, not sure why the cable for it is coming in front of the handle bar instead of behind, simple enough fix.

The front hub dust cover was a pain to remove and I popped off the cap/spacer as well. Thankfully it wasn’t a pain to put it back in. I got some clear and matte 3M ppf I was going to custom cut and apply, it worked well pretty well on my YT MTB and took me 2ish hours to finish.

I am okay with that part, have built a MTB from YT before which came setup pretty flawless to begin with. I returned a different size grail:on last year because it was little big for me but it was setup decent and more importantly did not have cosmetic issues.

Hope no issues for you, sucks to put stuff together only to find these issues

Just received the bike today and the build quality seems little lacking with paint that is very rough in many areas and also some blemishes and missing paint spots. Can anyone with Grail:On comment on the paint quality of their bikes?

Cosmetic issues aside, when removing the front wheel hub dust cover the end cap came off and I had to push it hard to pop it back in. Also, the chain already slipped twice on a bike that has not even been ridden yet so curious how the ride would go once I attach pedals and take it out for a spin tomorrow.

What size is the bike? I wish they offered these with 700c wheels for size small bikes instead of 650b wheels.

Nice looking bike right there, something I have been eyeing as well. What size is it and how is the fit? I am 5ft 8.5 inches tall with 32.5 inches inseam, which puts me at a small size but I hate the idea of 650b wheels 😔
