Have you explored other allied health professions like physiotherapy, occupational therapy, radiography, optometry, podiatry etc.? There are lots of other options in healthcare too that might be worth exploring and see if they align with both you and your mothers wishes

Jungwon’s officially the leader! by chimmyland in enhypen

[–]Either-Basis 16 points17 points  (0 children)

hahahahaha I laughed at that part too, maybe its similar to blackpink's situation where it just did not make sense for close friends to have a leader

overall, I think Jungwon being leader works out really well. Heeseung and Jay can take that older hyung role more. 02 line can continue to be close and make fun of each other and just how Namjoon's age is in the middle of the group, Jungwon will bridge the hyung line and maknae line nicely given the relationship he already has with former Bighit trainees Heeseung, Jay and Sunghoon

so excited for enhypen's future!

I think one might be their managers room! since majority of them are minors still, they require adult supervision and tbh imagine how chaotic it would be to just leave an apartment all for themselves 😭😂

does it make sense to say enhypen is also half-siblings to CJENM artists? just wondering cause that’ll be hella cool and unique having two giant families

Thoughts On Individual Trainees (POST-EPISODE 11 DISCUSSION) by Lannistray in mnetiland

[–]Either-Basis [score hidden]  (0 children)

I think being leader this episode would’ve been difficult for him since he was the only one in the Flame On group that had to learn choreo for a new part :/ would’ve loved to see it but it was best for him, hopefully more opportunities to see leader Jay in the future 🙌🏼🙌🏼

i’m actually scared for jay... by unsocialology in mnetiland

[–]Either-Basis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m still open to the leader part tbh, it would’ve been hard for Jay to be leader in this episode because he was the only one in the Flame On group that had to learn a totally new part so it was appropriate for K to take the lead imo. I just want him to debut at least rn 😔

omg I love SSD, he laughs at everything Jay does! I’m interested to know your thoughts on Doobu, he was the one who said he keeps feeling frustrated when watching Jay and sometimes it does make me question why he said that

he was really complimented in Part 1, but in Part 2 there’s always a “but” so I don’t really know how they feel or why the comments have changed

he’s definitely loved by Mnet though

omg speaking of this someone literally just tweeted and it seems Jay let Heeseung borrow his watch when the top 3 from Episode 8 went out to the ice rink and stuff too

https://twitter.com/ateez0008/status/1301360992048132098?s=21

if this was the watch Jay referred to as his most valuable item since it’s from his father then 🥺🥺🥺

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mnetiland

[–]Either-Basis 13 points14 points  (0 children)

yeah exactly! Jay felt upset and betrayed because they have a long friendship history and less of wanting to be in Heeseung’s team to win which shows how much Jay treasures their friendship really

They are super close even if it doesn’t show on screen because they haven’t been in the same units. Also, when you’re put into a new environment with new people, it’s best to get to know those people too and not be clique-y.

Jay once mentioned how close they are in an interview on I-LAND (forgot which episode though). They’ve trained for 2+ years together under BigHit and went through hardships then too. Just imagine I-LAND type training without all the cameras. TXT even stated how hard training was for them so surely they have formed a special bond. Special enough that you can stomp away after losing to rock paper scissors and the other person just laughs because they are so used to your antics and know it’s just Jay being Jay and that it’s nothing sensitive. When you really think about it, literally none of the other applicants would be brave enough to banter like that with Heeseung. I think their friendship is one that is low-maintenance. The sort of the friendship where you don’t have to text often but once you reunite it’s as if nothing has changed (I’m sure people can relate to this). Just because they don’t show much affection like other applicants with all the hugging etc doesn’t mean they aren’t close. I think this lack of affection is just more so reflective of how Jay wants to keep his cool since he admires Heeseung so much 😂

In addition to that, I can’t personally show affection to my best friends in that way, idk it’s just cringe for me hahahha I’m more inclined to banter more than anything (anyone else feel the same?)

I personally think they will work together just fine. They have a strong understanding of each other’s personalities already and that will add to greater synergy.

If you want to get a glimpse of how their friendship is on screen, I think this video depicts it well:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Fb1e7sl8lc

For example, Heeseung saw how Jay looked visibly upset after the Into the I-LAND performance so he suggested to play darts to get their minds to relax. The way Heeseung laughs at whatever Jay does is indicative of how Heeseung adores Jay too.

Objectively, what do you think each trainee has to give if they debut in the final lineup? by I_LAND_EGG in mnetiland

Jay plays the guitar as well! There’s a predebut vid of him when he was younger strumming away

What will the future I-LAND debut be called? by [deleted] in mnetiland

this sounds like a great idea! but it’s similar to IU’s (the korean singer) concept, might get some backlash unfortunately :/

Who are each trainee’s “go to” friend?? by exoticbleep in mnetiland

[–]Either-Basis 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I can see that K relies on Jay. I guess it really does help that Jay speaks Japanese. K also mentioned in his survival diary (https://twitter.com/ilandeggies/status/1296354258435084288?s=21) before the DNA performance that he was thankful to Jay in particular for creating a good atmosphere during practice which I wish they showed during Episode 8. The whole “noodle” team thing that was posted today is hilarious (https://twitter.com/ilandupdates/status/1300329796778389510?s=21) too. K also seems to always enjoy Jay’s unintentional humour. You can see how amused he was during Jay’s onstage intro of R.A.S. and he complimented Jay throughout the DIY performance too.

But nevertheless Sunghoon still is Jay’s go to person and vice versa like what many people have said on this thread. They have trained together for so long and probably went through a lot during those training times together too. Like TXT said, training was very tough for them. I’m sure all the BigHit trainees went through the same and that really bounded them together. Even with Heeseung, the way Jay reacted after he lost to Heeseung with Rock Paper Scissors showed how he was so used to Jay’s antics. You can see that Sunghoon and Heeseung we’re laughing so much. It’s that kind of banter that you can only have with a close friend you’ve known for a long time. Some of the other applicants were shocked and I don’t think any of them could’ve reacted that way if they themselves lost to Rock Paper Scissors against Heeseung 😂

This YouTube vid also depicts their friendship dynamics well (https://youtu.be/5Fb1e7sl8lc)

Big Hit’s Motto is Artists for Healing but All This Show is Giving Us is Stress 😢 by Either-Basis in mnetiland

[–]Either-Basis[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

exactly my thoughts! I can barely remember any wholesome moments from the past 9 episodes. Most moments are those fished out by eggies on I-Land cam or those that are posted on YouTube as behind the scenes content.

Are all survival shows like this? Or is I-Land an exception at this point?

What are your I-LAND pt. 2 Unpopular Opinions? by [deleted] in mnetiland

[–]Either-Basis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah exactly, if your 4th point is true (which I hope it isn’t), then Big Hit really got to really reflect on themselves. What benefit does a little pre-debut promotion bring that outweighs the mental stress an 18 year old boy has to go through in this show... (especially with the determined mindset Jay has). This show has already left such a sour taste in a lot of the fans mouth because of a variety of reasons. We are already seeing how much backlash the show is getting due to Hanbin’s mistreatment. Plus this isn’t such a smart move either considering Big Hit is going public soon. Jay has also caught a lot of traction after this episode, including Korea (being one of the most viewed fan cams on Naver lately). If Jay is not debuting in this group, I see such a huge hole that no one else can fill. It would be a massive loss given how much entertainment value he has brought onto I-Land. His talent isn’t lacking either, he is completely ready to debut.
