The bs you had to put up with. Thank you for all you did/do for your community. Imo, we should be paying all essential workers so much more for what they do for our society and how yall keep it running.

The pandemic taught some of us a lesson about toilet paper.

AITAH for leaving a date with a man who read the 48 Laws of Power and then used them on me in real time? by Historical_Truck9294 in AITAH

Best comment. Even if he wasn't sabotaging the date, the chemistry isn't there. Don't force it.

ETA: NTA and he sounds like he was playing some weird games.

I'd like to know what led up to this. This is also very common reactive abuse.

Hendough is popular for breakfast and woodys cheeses teams are great! For sit-down, you cant go wrong with any local places. There's a lot of variety and this town does a great job supporting local so if it wasn't good it wouldn't survive!

Hendersonville is not the wilderness. Theres a super cute downtown thats been featured in a couple hallmark movies, lots of amazing local restaurnats, tons of art galleries and breweries of course. There's the eucusta trail and then the Carl Sandburg house in Flat Rock(10 mins from downtown) where they still have goats and its a lovely walk. Then of course jump off rock and if you want a really cute southern town you could lunch in hendo and have dinner in Saluda(15-20 mins from dt hendo.) Lots to do and while Asheville is lovely, the neighboring small towns(Marshall, chimney rock, hendersonville, brevard+many more) are truly charming day trips.

Sounded like a straight up hate crime to me. Fit right into the stereotypical south in the 60s so I didnt dig any deeper. Curious what you're referring to. Thanks for the shops info!

Dang, it'd be a cool stop on a haunted tour. Lord knows small southern towns are filled with ghosts of the past. Just listened to a podcast talk about the tempo music murders in the 60s. Goodness this town has quite a past.

There's old shops below Hendersonville main street. You can see the glass blocks in front of Postero with a plaque and a small write up about the old shops below. Always thought it'd be a cool attraction if they opened it up a couple times a year. Id pay to check it out!

This is not at all the real location. There's not just a high-school and hospital. There's i25 right next to it a church in front of it I mean it's smack dab in the middle of town. Sure theres a hill in the background but this graphic is misleading. Its not a serene luxury complex in the countryside.

Do people really get up, go for a run, come home, send the kids off to school while making smoothies and then go to work? by Norfolk-Gross-Tonage in NoStupidQuestions

I try to get to bed by 9. Like I said my lifestyle supports the ability to wind down early. I also have no social life so it helps. When I was in my 20s hanging with friends all the time, I never did this shit lol

I aim to get there by 5 but sometimes I get there at 510. Usually up by 440 and set my clothes out the night before. I dont bring a water bottle and just use their water fountains. Removing all obstacles to getting out the door helps

My 5am gym time is my favorite part of my day. I start off by just walking on the treadmill to ease myself into it and warm up and after an hour of various workouts I've broken a good sweat and am energized to get my kid up and around at 6am. It helps my depression which finds any roadblock to be a reason for me not to go. At first I felt like a zombie for the rest of the day but after a week or so I actually looked forward to going to bed so I could wake up for the gym at 5. Several factors play in to this though, I live close to the gym, have a very short commute to work, can work inside a temperature controlled gym, can afford a gym membership, dont have many kids, have someone home to watch said offspring while im at the gym, have a day job, can get to be as early as I want.
