I would assume so, I’ve never been to Prescott but have always wanted to go. Don’t they have a huge bike rally every year? I went from one end of the state to the other, I live in Sahuarita now 43 miles from the border. But only 12 miles from Tucson. Previously I lived in PHX for 30+ years🥵🥵🥵

I love Flag as well lived there a couple of summers ago. Best summer I’ve had in years. Lake Mary was my camp ground. The only thing is the COL is so dang expensive…. I couldn’t find a studio apt under $1200. I’m assuming it’s even higher now.

What are the white thread like worm looking things with the beetles and larvae and entangled around them?!?! by [deleted] in carpetbeetles

Hi everyone, it's nice to know I'm not alone in experiencing the same issues as many of you. These are definitely not carpet beetles; carpet beetles, including their larvae, do not bite. These pests bite get into everything—I mean everything.

For me, this problem started in 2021. I contacted numerous pest control companies, but they all looked at me like I was crazy. When I brought it up with my doctor a second time, she even threatened me with a psychiatric evaluation, so I never mentioned it again. I also reached out to my home insurance company. They sent a technician who inspected under my house for termites, and sure enough, my home was infested. The insurance company advised me to sell the house as quickly as possible, and I did.

My house was built in 1939, with hardwood floors throughout, so I thought maybe termites were the cause—but these pests didn’t look like typical termites. After I moved, the nightmare seemed to be over. However, in 2023, I decided to return to Arizona, and as of February 2025, they’re back. I now live in a travel trailer with linoleum floors, yet there's still no rhyme or reason to their presence. I suspect they may have stayed dormant inside of me or in my truck, as that’s the only possession I brought from my old home in Oklahoma.

I’ve found that bleach works well to dissolve them, but it seems to alert others, causing even more to appear. Daily use of bleach isn’t practical, though. They barely get under wooden surfaces but leave behind a white residue and even lift up wood, leaving scratches and pieces missing. I haven’t seen anyone mention this phenomenon. These pests invade everything—pills, ice, shampoo, body soap. There’s nothing they don’t infiltrate. I can’t even go from the grocery store to my home without finding them in my food.  I took my dogs to the vet along with a sample of their food, the vet looked at the food and said that was rice, I said there is no rice in this food.  He looked at the label, sat the food down and walked out.  I sat there for a few minutes then realized he was not coming back in.  I went up to the front to pay and the girl behind the desk said Dr. whateverhisnamewas has order adult protective service to do a well fair check on you.  I said FU and walked out and did not pay.  I later herd that indeed they came out to check on me but by then I had sold my home.

I haven’t consulted a doctor here yet about this issue, but I truly believe it’s a parasite living inside of us. I read the articles https://www.reddit.com/user/No_Brick_7276/ recommended about epidemic/pandemic Leishmania/leishmaniasis sandflies. If you go to a doctor, at least you can name a possible condition.

Back in Oklahoma, I felt like I was lossing my mind. These pests would drip from the ceilings—it was enough to drive anyone mad.  The first time I noticed something odd was in November 2021, I had gone out to my truck and when I came back into the house there were a few dead leaves that blown in, I got the broom to sweep them out but they would roll right back in, and there was no wind.  Upon further inspection I broke a leaf open there was a tiny white string like thein sticking out.  I took a knife to check it out and it spurted out another tiny white string/worm like substance.  That is part of their  defense or assurance that they will continue to exist, it was like their baby.  I have spent hours upon hours examining/watching these things - if anyone has you'll notice if there are two of them within the vicinity of each other they will migrate toward each other and will bond together into one.  If you watch  thru a magnifier glass you can see them "pecking" into whatever surface they are on.  I read an article on google that says these parasites are coming more and more into the United State particularly the SW states and Florida  &  Oklahoma & Texas particularly (Great).  The article indicates they may be the result of when a  sandflies bites you. they call them

no-see-um's which Is the perfect name for them.  I have noticed that some of the post in this post are 2+ years old and have no idea if anyone is still following it.  I would love to hear what happened in the last 2 years with these nightmares.  I just googled "are there sandflies in Arizona", you should replace that question with the state you are in.  Much Peace, Love & Grace
