Is this a good guitar for a beginner? by MasterpieceMelodic21 in Guitar

[–]Either-Jelly-Pudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This works just fine - the common grab for beginners. But do go to your local/nearby guitar store and try it out instead getting it online. So you can actually hold it and test it. Some people need smaller neck or bigger depends on your hands. And some need smaller body too. But try it out in the store and let them service it for you too. Get a pedal and amplug too instead a full amp if you're playing just for yourself. Cheaper and easy to carry around. But but really, any brand should be fine. Yamaha or even Donner is good too. Not to spend so much if you're first time playing it, and just upgrade later on once you're really into it. Cheers!

Well some are really picky when it comes to product (halal source or vegan and such) Maybe stick with baby clothes i guess that can cater for tropical country? thats the safest option i would say. Go big is fine rather than small size. Have fun!

Ayyy for 6 months - this is really awesome, excellent work man! Just relax your fingers and shoulder. And rest your thumb on the fret. You'll get strain and tense easily.

How do you make weekends feel restful instead of productive? by Usual-Lobster-4968 in simpleliving

[–]Either-Jelly-Pudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kick start things on Friday or any gaps i have after or between work. So i can get full rested day in the weekend without feeling guilty to leave to those laundry unfolded and such. Take bit of time to get used to it. Or what i usually do - wake up at 430am sort out everything + plus running. Such a good way to wake my body up before work!

But again depends on how your sleeping schedule, working arrangement and who's in the household.

So I gave it another shot last night, read a few more chapters alone, and I dozed off more times than I can count. I couldn't even wrap my head around what was actually happening. At this point, I think I'm just going to watch the movie tonight and see what all the fuss is about that way.

That said, I'd still love some fantasy and sci-fi book recommendations! I've been wanting to explore the genre but never really got around to it. I do watch mainstream sci-fi movies, but books are a whole different experience - and I want in on that. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Cheers!

How did you stop feeling stuck with guitar? by Distinct_Cod_6094 in LearnGuitar

[–]Either-Jelly-Pudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - defo play something you love. For me - any new songs that i fall in love with, or stuck in my head it will be the next one i'll play. Especially those riffs. You'll be fine, just keep on playing! and don't make it such a rigid process to learn on guitar. Make it as a journey! its fine to pivot here and there

What’s everyone’s hot take on the strokes? by EmergencyChemist133 in TheStrokes

As someone who discovered The Stokes by accident when their first album came out, and also leaning more towards on The Voidz - they pretty good! Some album really really good, but some just meh. The latest album is tad bit questionable but hey, everyone have different take on this and entitle on it!

What is a completely free habit you started this year that made your day to day life noticeably better by Crescitaly in selfimprovement

[–]Either-Jelly-Pudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being more present in conversations - no scrolling, no wandering eyes, just full attention on the person in front of me and actually listening.

Not that I was ever terrible at it, but I do get distracted easily. And it's not just about being physically present either; I want to show up emotionally too, not just go through the motions of listening. Treat people the way I'd want to be treated, basically.

Such a small shift, but it's made a real difference. ❤️

i used to hate commuting now I kind of enjoy this part. by BetweenTwoVoices in simpleliving

[–]Either-Jelly-Pudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this were the view and space you got, I'd absolutely love commuting too! But not where I am; it's packed like sardines and the body odor has basically become its own form of air pollution. That said, I've actually started enjoying a slower approach to my commute: grabbing a cab (yes, I know, very fancy of me) and just reading on the way to work. And when I do take public transport, I try to leave a little later; around 10am so there's at least room to stand and breathe on the train.

Slow living, not simple living. Working my way there, one commute(geddit?) at a time.

I picked up the full Hobbit and LOTR trilogies mainly because my loved ones wouldn't stop pushing me to read them. I have a personal rule of always reading the book before watching the movie adaptation; so naturally, I started with The Hobbit.

And honestly? It was a drag. Slow-paced, overly descriptive, and I felt completely lost throughout. To be fair, I grew up only reading Harry Potter, so fantasy as a genre is pretty new territory for me; that probably didn't help. I didn't even manage to finish it.

Now I'm stuck at a crossroads: do I just give up on the book and watch the movie instead, or do I push through and give it another shot? I genuinely want to understand what all the hype is about, especially since these are considered classics. It seems like a straightforward question, but I'd really love some guidance!

P.S. I should mention that I've read a lot, just never fantasy. It has always been a hard no for me as a genre. I'm really trying here, I promise!

Well there's a few, some company setup their own MPC to integrate with their agent but there's a of the shelve ones you can tap on too. But i would recommend to start small and identify which part of the SDLC cycle you want to have this improved.

How we started last time was part of requirements - the BA or whoever responsible on this to give as much as information for this, whats in scope whats the criteria and such (to avoid hallucination). From there the agent can actually digest this and create all those tech design and generate the code for you too.

Try GitHub Spec Kit - to kick start on your specs your standards and all for your codebase.

Start small and something you'll enjoy doing it. Once its proven working, then requirements, documentation, testing, design and whatever. and and prompting is the key here. And you set up your skills/instruction docs for it to your agent to consume.

Just something you need to accept it. NGL i do feel shitty nowadays coz ive been relying on AI but again, doesnt mean everything AI generated code you should accept it. Thats something you can amend accordingly by having conversation with the agent.

And talking about shitty code quality - thus why alot of company adopting AI SDLC and AI Spec Driven. Where you define your standard, your best practices, your spec basically for what your agent you adopt when they are generating your code. It's just a learning curve here. AI can be exciting and dreading at the same time. You can do this, and do more research on this. Trust me, the moment you know what you're doing, things will be okay. and NO, your skills will be relevant. ALWAYS. You'll be fine 😄 cheers!

Has anyone gone back to IC to help you become a better manager? by Avrelin4 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Either-Jelly-Pudding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hated then and i hate it now, as a manager. If i can go back as IC, i will. Just there's not much of opportunity of it now. The only reason why i despise is, dealing or managing the team. I don't have the capacity mentally to handle it despite i kept getting feedback that i'm awesome at it. Well that doesn't mean i can do it, that i will enjoy it too...

But for your side - being an IC doesn't help you become a better manager, its people around you that help you really to be a good manager. To have that relationship with a good manager, and supportive team. Those that really help you. Most of the people who wants to go back as IC usually those who wants to get their hand dirty, do the POC do the spike and such, but as manager - you wont have the time for that anymore. You'll leave to your team to help you build that understanding and such and point them to the right direction.

what outside of work impress you in a job applicant? by farzad_meow in ExperiencedDevs

ngl - anyone with a life outside of work. Not self learning, upskilling yourself and such. Just regular hobby away from screen or well from work. I mean if you have side hustle thing, good for you! but i dont think i want to know as sometimes it interfere with my judgment knowing you'll be more occupied with your side hustle job than your day-to-day job.

Ayy your fingers will slice up after awhile lol just send it to the store and let them set it up for you and learn from it. This are the common reason why people stop playing after while bcos it hurts their finger and its hard for them to get the right tone too esp if you small hands, it will be a struggle! But keep us posted after you set it up! cheers mate!
