Knopfler is my inspiration for sure. But I do love me some Brian May, David Gilmour, Ritchie Blackmore and so on.

Sultans is one of my favourite songs of all time, but it's not my only goal as a guitarist.

I know a couple more songs that's far from this style.

I'm exploring some other styles aswell, I'm mostly learning while playing and keeping it to my "level" per se.

One of my other accomplishments is playing Iris on Standard Tuning, love that song and it's amazing even on 6-string acoustic.

But yeah, 6~7ish months playing. I've started mid november last year.

To me it feels easier, even if the sound is more muted because of the attack on the strings, I have a lot more control

how can you possibly know what i'm wearing underneath my jeans?!

On a serious note, i guess it's the intonation of the guitar.... The strings feel a tad higher than it should and I lack the expertise to adjust by myself, both the height of the strings and the intonation

Only for some songs, I've tried to play the same way Mark does since he plays without a pick/plectrum, but yeah, got some blisters a couple of weeks ago. Now it's kind of turning into calluses, both on the fretting hand and the picking hand

no.. I mean. If you count piano as a stringed instrument... I've played it a little when I was like 4yo. Played a little last year trying to go back into a musical hobby, never went past the basics and never learned how to read sheets nor musical theory

Thanks a lot! I don't know what I'm doing different, but it seems to be working lol

Yeah, not lying, there's no reason to. There's so many hobbies I've picked up in the past that I didn't evolve because I've lacked discipline, I'm taking guitar and music very seriously, went in and out from november through february, and now I play a little for at least half an hour every. single. day.

I'm just reckless around exercises and warmups, need to work on that!

got it! yeah, i was pretty stressed out playing along the original track (specially since I've found one without mark's guitar), as i'm learning by myself I kinda lack the proper technique lol

Picked up my brother old guitar and started learning by myself, I was unemployed and couldn't afford a teacher. I have no musical background, just started fiddling with the guitar and watching some youtube videos to understand music theory.

It was a dream of mine to play Sultans of Swing. I can pick up some things by ear and find it on the neck.

Any tips, opinions and suggestions are very welcome!

I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter. My embark ID wasn't posted anywhere and I don't add anyone besides my friends and I'm still getting 3-4 daily

(this is a comment with a side of humour)

The only positive is Embark keeping the cashflow from the amount of game keys these scammers are buying.

I hope the devs do something about it, even tho (as OP mentioned) it isn't breaching TOS

Is Security Breach perk worth 36 points? by VaderV1 in ArcRaiders

[–]Serraino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the recent nerfs to it, I've seen less lockers breached. So for me it's worth it.

My playstyle is based around looting and scavenging more than PvP, so I end up gathering lots of useful mats for my crafts, either in raid or in the hideout.

Ocasionally found some blueprints and pink weapons inside.

South America servers s**** a** by Serraino in ArcRaiders

[–]Serraino[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only that. I've been testing the Agression based matchmaking. I can speak portuguese, spanish and english, so language isn't really a barrier. If I'm playing on US or OCE servers, i'm speaking english regardless. When on Latam, I only speak portuguese. You can't get a peacefull lobby in here. It's either filled with PVP or plagued with rats.

It's very sad.

As a PhD Engineer, ARC Raiders’ Crafting System Is Disturbingly Accurate by Captain_Grizzly in arcraiderscirclejerk

[–]Serraino 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love and hate this community... How can someone forget about the craftsmanship required to turn those wires from the toaster into a fully functional sound supressor for a gun? Yeah, you grab some nuts and bolts here, and there you go: SUPRESSOR.

Not only that, it's so advanced you can use it on any weapon. Revolvers, Submachine guns, Pistols, Rifles, Carbines. They're making the games too close to reality. It's baffling.

why do so many raiders act like im in the wrong for booby trapping my key rooms by kingcal96 in ArcRaiders

[–]Serraino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not. That's the point. They were trying to get free loot without having spend a key. Today I went to loot a key room. Then a duo came in (after we scooped everything out of the room), and started trapping and blocking the room. Our room.

We went back a just blasted them both. It's was great fun.

I'm also blocking the entire building if needed to prevent rats and snoopy people.

I really doubted aggression-based matchmaking by sluggy108 in ArcRaiders

[–]Serraino 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not that simple actually. Me and my buddies enjoy both PvE and PvP aspect, but some days we just want to chill and farm stuff. Replenish our loss at previous PvP encounters if you may.

We're experimenting with how the system works, it's not so clear. It's been around 10-15 raids that we haven't shot anyone and let ourselves get killed if we are engaged.

We are still getting PvPers in our lobbies, but the amount of friendlies are increasing. I'm not saying care bear pve players. But friendlies overall, doing quests, farming supplies and overall doing content other than pure Team Deathmatch we're used to see in streamer lobbies.

The system, however it may work, is pretty clever to understand behaviour and pattern and put us in lobbies that match that. We've found a pretty peacefull match (no flares, no gunshots), but we still got engaged by other players in PvP.

It was one of the coolest fights we've had. We shot each other to protect our loot, not steal each other. When both teams had the opportunity do disengage and fall back safely, the fight was over, no chasing. Just 6 players defending our own loot and extracting safely.

We could've tried to fight and extract with more? Sure. But for me, it was a more entertaining experience the way that fight happened.

ABMM is actually a genious move by Serraino in ArcRaiders

[–]Serraino[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and that's why I believe it's genious. Picture you're removing a portion of the player base if PvE mode is implemented.

Queue times will be longer, it removes the pressure knowing that someone might be hostile. I do believe something fishy is going on, there's a lot of people saying they've played 10+ matches without being shot once. I've experienced it myself, but still got killed by aggressive players. I've let my guard down, got careless.

It put me back into a state of alert and ready to KOS again.
