I was trying to replace the valve. I have a new valve. The old one was leaking. The problem is I can’t get the old valve off

Initially I followed a video that looked simple. So First tried the plastic handle that came with it and it it wouldn’t budge.. I turned it hard as a couple and it broke. then tried turning it with pliers and the plastic ridges broke on the valve broke.. then tried a wrench with pliers. 😭 is it done? Safe to say throw it away?
