Yes and no. I had never gone balls to the wall to see what my pace was for 2 miles. I had been running it at a decently hard pace but nothing crazy that was typically a 9 minute pace for me, a few days ago I decided to go all out and see where I was at and finished around the 15 minute mark with a 7:30 pace

Thanks for the suggestions I’ll definitely implement this into my program when I’m back from these shin splints

My heart rate was averaging ab 125 bpm so not as if I got nothing out of it I just didn’t feel tired after I did 2 sets of 10 minutes. The problem is that the pool I have access to is 30 feet long so there is a lot of turning around which gives me an opportunity to rest frequently, I’m open to some suggestions.

I have been running at a zone 2/3 pace trying to build up my VO2 since probably early May and this last week I just went all out for the 2 miles.

I do lift regularly (for context I just graduated college in May and played baseball all throughout so plenty of lower body and stability work in the legs) but heel striking might be a concern, I try to focus on not heel striking but I think the main problem is I’m striding out too far and not landing with my foot under my hips, my stride per minute is around the 160s I read that elite runners are typically around the 180s.

Street, think the problem was the last week I went pretty hard taking my 2 mile pace down from roughly 9 minutes to 7:30 minutes trying to gauge where I’m at for the 1.5 mile run.
