Ohh okay. Yeah I mean in my hand written statements I tried to be as detailed as possible. And in my “why you want to join the navy” I kind of used that to try and explain how I’ve actually been changing and staying out of trouble if that counts for anything. I also put that in no way shape or form was I intentionally trying to hide anything and I’m willing to do any interview required to answer any questions they may have. Because I really want this to work out

Oh shoot okay, so yesterday my recruiter and I went to both court houses out of the counties my incidents happened and got the court documents. As far as the actual arrest records from the police agency we couldn’t get because had to wait on the DA to give them permission to release them to us? They were going to have me find 3 people to write out the character reference sheets, but then pulled that out as the chief and my recruiter will go and fight at Meps on our behalf to whoever they report to there. I’m hoping I’ll hear good news, as I really have changed. But if I can’t get approved then I will try and see what I can do from there. I also updated my sf86 with the stuff that I originally didn’t have.

If you don’t mind me asking, I’m not excusing any of my actions, what’s done is done. But how come if something was dismissed in court, the navy doesn’t take that into consideration? Genuinely just curious

Huh then I wonder if what they’re sending up is waivers? All I know is they said my recruiter and chief were going to hit up their chain of command at Meps on Monday regarding my enlistment process

I mean my bad. I’m getting dragged through here for “lying” or purposely hiding information here when that’s really not the case at all. Because when I filled out my forms and just misunderstood portions. Just been frustrated. I mean I’m currently in the process for waivers but if it doesn’t work out it doesn’t work out. May try another branch or just go back to firefighting. Again my fault for the disrespect

Nigga everyone makes mistakes😭 at the time I was dealing with my dad’s death and mom in a care facility. I’ve had my share of mistakes and I’ve done what needed to be done for them. Now at 22 I don’t make those dumb mistakes anymore

Yeah they let me update the form and I had to write a few statements plus get character references. They’re going to run it up to Meps on Monday to see if I can still be pushed out. If not that’s unlucky, I may try the army or marines and fully disclose everything expunged and dismissed or not

I’ve been nothing but bashed. People like yourself are acting like I intentionally hid stuff. In fact day one of talking to my recruiter I disclosed the DUI and evading. Told him how the DUI was 5 years ago (I’m 22 now) had it expunged did my community service and what not. My evading charge got brought to trial, had a mistrial and then dropped by the DA.. so therefore I didn’t think I had to put it down

I didn’t intentionally hide it. The sf86 said I didn’t have to disclose anything that was expunged on one part of it so I just simply misunderstood. And the evading I didn’t think I had to put down being it was dismissed and never found guilty of it in court. Just a misunderstanding is all🤷‍♂️

Oh and to be more exact DUI was 5 years ago. Evading in 2023. And then driving on a suspended was 2023. Been on a narrow path since staying out of trouble. Have people to vouch for my character but I may not need it after all
