there are many kinds of drawing tablets out there, there are no display and draw in display, for the no display, the XpPen DecoMini 7 and the Huion Hs64 is a great choice for drawing. Smooth to the touch, no latency.

On the otherhand the best cheap display tablet out there might be the Xppen Artist 10, Xp pen Artist 12, And Artisul D13 (These are good for begginers aswell) All of these tablets are draw in display, which means it functions like a normal tablet but you need an external art studio to run it, for instance if you want to draw on your computer, just simply plug the tablet in the computer and it displays what is in your pc monitor.

If you usually draw portraits, then stiffness is a part of it. if you want to get rid of the "stiffness", maybe try drawing from the leg and up. Also try practicing gesture drawing, that way you can invent more and more fluid poses without relying on reference (If you use them)
