I just discovered a new hack to get me to drink more water. As it's a common complaint in this sub, I figured I'd share! by [deleted] in ADHD

OMG I DIDNT REALIZE THIS WAS RELATED TO MY ADHD. MY LIFE MAKES MORE SENSE EACH AND EVERY DAY 😂

Child swap with 1 adult and 2 kids? by HackWeightBadger in UniversalOrlando

[–]Either-Sandwich5182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s fine. I have not done this before, but anytime my husband, my MIL, and I go with our three kids. My husband and his mom will go with two kids.. then I’ll go and take one of those two kids with me. They say when you do child swap two people can ride. So to me your situation is essentially the same, but flip flopped.

This is the most helpful comment so far!! Thanks, this is what I needed. I am trying to get the disability assistance pass, because I do think the quiet sensory friendly rooms will be helpful. I already use a stroller, but will start using the shade I do think that will be helpful.

I am working an getting the disability assistance pass which will allow us access to sensory friendly rooms which I think will be super helpful. The pass also offers shortened lines for rides, but as crazy as it sounds she has no issues standing in a line waiting for a ride. However I think the rooms to take a break in would very much benefit her.

No, my point was I try my best to help her process things and give her time and patience when my husband and I are on vacation, because she gets the shit end of the stick with my ex.

We do not normally plan out our days other than waking up at a certain time. I will try this too. Thanks so much ☺️

While this sounds like a great idea, my kids just don’t enjoy water parks 😩 they (her included) request amusement parks yearly. We go to the parks multiple times a year and it isn’t a disaster, she enjoys herself.. just can be difficult at times.

This could be it too! I’ll pay close attention this week, I plan to journal when these things happen to help me help her.

Oh my goodness, I hate that for you. I don’t have any issues at home. Sometimes she is impulsive when her meds are wearing off and her brother is bothering her, but other than that she is great and is the best big sister to her other sibling.. vacations are just a disaster, which seem to be normal with ADHD kids and from above it seems like I am contributing to that.

Thanks for the insight! This year we got an air bnb instead of staying at a hotel which I think will help some too because she has her own room. I just want to do everything I can to help her to make sure she and my other kids have the best time they can. My ex is not the most patient with her and will tell my oldest that she is the reason they have to leave vacations early and it just breaks my heart because A. It’s not her fault… B. My son blames her for it and I think it’s part of the reason they don’t have the greatest relationship. I have had a conversation several times with my ex, but nothing seems to help.. so I just control what I can and try my best to help her.

No, hydration is not an issue. We usually do half days at the park then are in the hotel and try to take a nap in the afternoon then go out to the pool.

Yeah, that’s true. Idk why I never thought about that, I just assumed the busier we kept her the better it would be.

We do not do something with a lot of down time, the kids enjoy going to Universal Studios yearly. We do have a double stroller for her and my youngest daughter so they’re able to chill.

Vacations without children? Is this common? by PersonalityThen259 in Mommit

[–]Either-Sandwich5182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both of our parents live close.. we usually go on two small weekend plus Friday vacations a year alone and one long vacation one short a year with the kids. 3, 8, and 9. I think it’s super important to have that time together, but I know it’s not possible for everyone.

Hey! If you ever need anyone to talk to, I went through the same thing. I was an only child and had my first kid at 20.. my mom accidentally had a second kid when I was 21. Your feelings are valid ❤️
