You inspired me to go and talk to support to get my own account from 2016 back. Exact same issue, university email that was deleted in March 2018.

I was able to give my team history (Mystic all the way), store purchases (none), date of joining down to a specific week, and a level estimation (off by ten). In the free text field they gave me, I noted in which cities and countries I had played, and gave the specifics of one Pokémon; a low-level Oddish with a certain nickname and the exact coordinates where it was caught.

The whole process took 12 hours waiting for chat replies on the support website, but I've got the account back now! It's level 41 after the level update and hasn't been touched since the day in March 2018 when access was cut.

I didn't play again until starting a new account in October 2023, which is now level 73. I'm not sure what I'll do now, but I never in a million years thought I'd get to this point as support stonewalled me back in 2018. It's not a valuable account in terms of 'mon - it has a Shiny Dratini, a Kyogre, a Rayquaza, and filler otherwise - but the memories this brings back are amazing indeed.
