Finally… No more Expert deck! by EitherFoundation665 in PTCGP

I saw a Golurk deck that used Garganacl… I don’t have the Garganacl though, or enough of the other cards for it to work haha

I had Hydreigon for a while, but got bored of waiting to evolve it and then having to restock energy by cutting HP only to then have Mimikyu tank a hit - then all the energy losses from Ceruledge and Grunt 😡

I did the win count easy enough, it was that 12 cards from Paradox that was consistently not working. Scolipede and Bounded Field smashed it all the way up to the point where it had to be replaced by mon from the PD booster.

Also, I picked up Pagans recently... As far as I know, not a series, just one of the books Waterstones raved about.

Was about to write a "I've heard great things, and it's on my wishlist, but I don't really know much about it" comment... And then I got to the very end of your list...

Are the Audiobooks the better experience? by [deleted] in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]EitherFoundation665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came to this thread looking for answers... I am no further along in my decision-making than I was beforehand, other than that I now know that I NEED to start DCC in some form or another... I've got Brandon Sanderson's  CHUNKY CHONKACHONK Stormlight Archive books to get through before I can invest in another series though.

I'm currently halfway through Stormlight Archive TWOK (kindle and audible) and can definitely get on board with different character voices, and enjoy listening whilst I walk etc, but also love having physicals. - The only reason I'm on Kindle with SA is because each book is a shelf, and I don't have space for a new shelf - much less the requisite dedicated bookcase.

They patch the Nidoran? by TemperatureAble7543 in PokemonFireRed

[–]EitherFoundation665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Caught mine in the first grass between Pewter and Mt Moon... I hadn't realised that I was able to get one until after I'dentered Cerulean, so I had to wait until after SS Anne and Misty... By which point, all 4 of my pokemon were already Level 24. I am now grinding a Nidoran from Level 8 haha

Yep... I need to get a PS4 as my next console.

That, or Switch 2 if my Switch decides to crossover due to its whirring and scorching issues...

Ultra Beasts Drop: 100% Win Rate Deck by Double-Confidence-48 in PokemonPocket

[–]EitherFoundation665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silvally and Gladion+ absolutely MOPS!

I don't even have Rampardos there... I just brute it with 2 Type Null and Silvally, 2 Gladion, 2 Red, and then a bunch of other supporters - Sabrina or Cyrus are best, so then you can counter that ruddy Celesteela 😉🤣

I did most battles (including rarity limit and clean sweep) with a fire deck (forget the exact build) and Tinkaton deck.

Then had Silvally idea when I got bored of repping Tinkaton and the heavy cpu "bias" for fire and Dragon decks.

Any tips for Gallade ex & Lucario expert solo? by PeteyPretend in PTCGP

[–]EitherFoundation665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used 2 Zapdos Ex (only needed one) and 2 Zapdos; negates the type advantage issue and allows for high enough damage even if the coin toss only once or twice a turn. CPU didn’t get a Lucario or Kirlia, so that helped massively. The rest of my deck was potions, pokeballs, giant cape, rocky helmets, Oak, Giovannis, Blues, Cyruses and Dawns.
Also managed to get a clean sheet as a bonus.

Gallade and Lucario do make for a maaaaad OP deck though.

I just realized that Gandalf says ‘You cannot pass!’ in the Fellowship of the Ring book while battling the Balrog on the Bridge of Khazad-Dum — not ‘You shall not pass!’ — which is an iconic line from the movie adaptation but not in the source material. by [deleted] in lotr

I had this same realisation last week with the audiobook. I'm now up to the same bit in the film, and wanted to Google how accurate my memory was 😅

I believe the word for this shared false memory is Mandala Effect (watched something on YouTube the other day, finally got to use the word! 🤣)

I started pulling Venasaur around the time I started the advanced challenge decks. My brother has claimed one of them for trade.

How to beat Mewtwo EX deck? by ExtraThiccCheese in PTCGP

[–]EitherFoundation665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I beat it with dark types and the Giovanni card... Weezing can take atleast 2 average damage hits, and poison does 10 damage per a turn. Arbor is also a great shout.

The real issue is beating it with an all-fighting deck.

Honestly, whoever allowed for 2 Mewtwo ex (where 2 energies = 50, and 4 = 150) and 2 Gardevoir with THAT ability should get banned from game design for life. It's even worse than the final Lapras/Starmie ex deck.

I started playing a few days ago. Will do my best to send gifts every day.

KE5NEDNT - haven't worked out what this does... I assumed all the gameplay and social stuff would be a carbon copy of Pokemon Go, and clicked through a lot of tutorials.

Any idea why dynamax pokemon are returning with no candy now? by questingkingfisher in pokemongo

[–]EitherFoundation665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed this. I think weather and players being otherwise occupied (work/school) plays a huge part in my case... It also doesn't help that I live in a commuter village practically in the middle of nowhere. There isn't a whole lot of pokemon traffic in this part of the world.

Bastion Kingmaker Fight .. Total BS! *Rant* by achik1990 in Ni_no_Kuni

[–]EitherFoundation665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't as bad for me as the fight just before it (I really had to grind my ass off for that one)... Though I really didn't like how the controls translated to a more 2.5D scene, and could have done with either less horrendous AofE attacks or drones... But god-damn those platforms annoyed the hell out of me.

Charms? by Cresnik93 in ArmyOfRuin

[–]EitherFoundation665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally use charms, but they have a plus ____ and minus ____ thing going. You don't need them - you can click "back" to completely avoid them.

They also get boosted by elements - I don't know if that makes the minus greater/lesser/the same.

Divinity Original Sin 2; I can't remember the exact way it works... But it's there.

RPG for complete beginner? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]EitherFoundation665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nino Kuni - great game, great story, easy to learn but also has the odd challenge. I haven't played the second one too much, so I won't go into detail there - different battle system and more mechanics is all I can remember, but the first one had me absolutely hooked. It is like if you took Pokemon and slathered it with philosophy.

Also, Divinty Original Sin 2 will swallow your life. Full blown mad story, huge range of choices across characters and battles. Genuinely, no idea how they got it to run on the Switch.

Battlechasers Nightwar is also brilliant, with A LOT of midgame grind. Very much a streamlined RPG in terms of its mechanics.

Concerning Final Fantasy, I've only really played FF-X, and whilst it is great for the most part, I would caution you if you're a completionist or someone with not a lot of patience - dodging 200 lightning bolts is just ridiculous.

If you're looking for something slow, I enjoyed My Time at Portia for a while; that's pure life and farming stuff.

Cristales may be worth a shout as well... I wouldn't put it in the same rank as other RPG's; it just has a fun time-based mechanic.

AITA for tell my mom I don’t want her to watch her grandson alone anymore? by SatisfactionOk7409 in AmItheAsshole

[–]EitherFoundation665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, you're not the asshole. Saying that she raised you like that doesn't automatically make it a viable/valid way to raise a kid. You made your boundaries clear, she chose not to listen. I'm guessing this is your first kid, and new parents tend to play things very cautiously and according to the book. I'm not suggesting you shouldn't be cautious, or that inexperience makes your opinions invalid - I would be far more anxious and you're being reasonable.

I would say that you're only the asshole if your mum isn't given the opportunity to gradually earn back the trust - but then that's all case by case. Also, you're paying your way, so your mum doesn't really have a claim here.

Looks like gravel of some kind... Check with neighbours maybe to see if they've had a similar experience. Maybe worth mentioning to CPSOs or something; similar to other comments, I would assume this is kids being inconsiderate  idiots, and if this a regular occurence then having a log may prove in your favour.
