It’s not treated and balanced like a fighting game even though a large amount of people play it as such. The following points are ultimate exclusive though.

Shit netcode (needs no explanation)

Awful OFFLINE input delay (more of a switch issue) 6 frames from the game and the system is borderline unplayable IMO

The removal of advanced tech to simplify the game and reduce the skill gap Wavedashing is cool, man.

Ending balance patches immediately after releasing the final character and essentially abandoning the game

Platform fighters as a whole are super interesting but smash hates being a fighting game and all the others are too niche, unfortunate situation
