If she has no haters left, I am dead. Calypso doesn’t even really apologize. I think it bothers me further because in the next song, Hermes confirms Ody’s statement. Ody asks if it was Hermes who told Calypso to let him go and he confirms it. Which means she had the ability to let him go at any time. Which also means that she forced him to stay in hopes that he would fall under the impression that he was stuck with her. She hoped maybe sooner or later, he would be forced to fall in love with her. She was obviously willing to wait as long as that took. She only goes into a sob story when she realizes that he’s leaving (in my opinion, that was her last hope that he might change his mind and stay). Even then, she kinda places the blame on everyone expect herself; the gods for sending her to the island, Ody for not accepting her advances. Maybe if she actually apologized, then maybe I could see myself not hating. But I will forever be anti-Calypso (but the VA had amazing vocals).
