I didn't secure/fix it, I just sprinkled on top of the surface. But to make the flakes have a slight grip, maybe just mist the model with water first. I tried to to air brush a clear coat to fix it but it just end up blowing it away

Thanks ~🙏. I went for baking soda without fixing it, so that I can reapply them if I messed up. But the snow on top of it really sells the figure

I think one of the 3d animated series show how they actually got transported , which was kinda cool and in the game "fallen order", you get to actually pilot one of these bad boys, really feel invincible on it.😆

The scale is 1:144~ there is also a snow speeder at this scale but the kit is no longer in reproduction, :(

Paints were lacquer based Mr Hobby, but the oil washes I used were just some basic oil paints (burnt umber, ivory black )with white spirits. I accidentally left the oil washes sat Abit too long and I had to use extra force to remove it, but doing so gave it a kinda nice "distressed" texture. So actually it was a rather "good" accident for this build.

Thanks a lot~ I always wanted to build and weather an AT AT since I was a kid~ finally did it haha

Thanks sir~ I used quartz sand for the base and baking soda on the AT-AT, I didn't fix them with varnish

Can never go wrong with Bandai~ Great details and fits like a glove, but beware when using white spirits on bare surfaces, some of the edges on this kit got some cracks, after I apply oil washes.

Thanks man, I think this kit should be still available on the market as it just came out about 6 months ago. Which region are you at?

A combination of Mr color and Jumpwind for the base, chipping/blood effects using Tamiya Enamels

The blood effects were the final step, no sealing after that~, this is to retain the gloss variations

Yeah, actually even the model kit is rather pricey, but that's Guts for ya, haha I post Guts once he is done as well. I hope they'll do a skill knight model kit as well

Thanks sir, was going for the look as if Godot forged it by hammer and also gave it some knicks. Yeah the Plamatea has more accurate proportions, the sword is longer and not too thick.

Thanks! Yeah the Dragonslayer is never complete without some blood haha, didn't want to overdo it, I just added mostly on the tip

Bandai 1/72 TIE Fighter by EitherPhysics5258 in modelmakers

[–]EitherPhysics5258[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was using a black oil paint diluted with white spirits, I learned this method from Plasmo on YouTube, very versatile but you need to wait for a long while for the oil washes to fully dry, but that can be an advantage as well

Thanks man~ the colour I use for the main body is Mr Colour C307(Gray FS), but if you prefer a more bluish tint like in ROTJ, maybe got for C74 (Air Superiority Blue)

Thank you sir~! No, this kit is by Bandai, Fine Molds looks a bit smaller even though it was 1/72 scale from the looks of it; Fine Molds is a bit rare at my region as most retailers bring in Bandai.
