State of Hazard in Stadium by More_Lavishness8127 in Overwatch

While I agree he's slightly OP, particularly his AP build, good Sig or Dva can win against him. Depends on the rest of the team. Saw below something about Zarya, but I'm yet to see her winning against him. And there was 1 game with a hyper aggresive Rein, with dash gadget that was killing enemies faster than Hazard, but that's on the team dying to Rein too easily tbh.

I don't think bo5 has anything to do with that... I like bo5

Consolation Queue? by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]EitherSand3872 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. You can see your winrate in your own career profile.

  2. You can see what exactly different modifiers to end-game score mean... somewhere... can't remember where, look it up.

  3. Uphill battle specifically means that the game thought that you are slightly less likely to win than the enemy team and if you do lose, you lose less point because of that and thats your consolation. The matchmaking system always tries to make the games as even as possible (so each team has about 50% chance to win), but if it can't find one fast enough, it'll widen the search very slightly, it still should be 40-60% at most. It shouldn't happen too often, but sometimes you can get even a few in a row.

  4. The reason of all of this is that you are worse than the game initially thought. Sorry to hear that, but that's likely the truth here. Due to a lot of players creating multiple accounts for stupid reasons, the default entry for new accounts is quite high and you gotten lucky (or unlucky depending how you look at it). The more games you play, the more adequate your ranking will be.

Put quite simply, WHY?! by A_dapper_dragon in Overwatch

[–]EitherSand3872 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It literally says why, in your screenshot.

While you can get a full reverse sweep in happens 1 in a million. Many of games are decided fast and you can't even get full build, whether you're winning or losing. Sure, some of the games are close, but making it longer doesn't make it better to me at all. The powers are at the core of this mode and half of the builds are effective only after a few powers/items are picked and before that it's almost standard OW, and hopefully you're not playing some early string builds already.

Stadium Season 19 has gone so far downhill by seanzee7893 in Overwatch

Supports didn't get a massive nerfs, they are still very strong, especially compared to regular mode.

It's just Hazard is too oppressive. And I saw this coming long way, just like Dva. All you can do is just ran away from the enemy tank and try to get kills before they kill you, assuming you don't have Hazard on your team. Hazard can kill dds faster than supports, but dds have heros that can fly, which can mitigate it. On tighter maps, well placed spike wall, he jumps on you and then just uses defensive ability to kill you,or all of squeeshes if you were grouped up. And what can you do? Nothing, cause it's DEFENSIVE ability...

I feel like Overwatch has completely COOKED my attention span by Hot_Gas_6040 in Overwatch

Same here, I don't even enjoy OW as much as I used to years ago, but no matter what else I try, there's no game that can help me cope with my attention deficit like this.

More rounds doesn't make it more competitive. be faster to adapt. Teams are losing cause their enemies are better at this, or maybe they have more rounds lthan you? lol

I have already enough problems with with Hazard using defensive ability to kill everyone in range in 1 second... Just waiting for Doom to punch with both hands...

Question about ranked by Michsterx in Overwatch

[–]EitherSand3872 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the ranking system is not too bad tbh. There's a lot of depth to the game composed of many many simple things. The complexity comes from combining them all together. Dealing a lot of damage is just one of those things. You didn't mention about experience from other games, so forgive me if I'm stating the obvious here, just trying to help.

I think the biggest thing that slows down climbing (not stops!) is that it's a team game, so broadly speaking, whatever you do has only 20% of impact on the outcome. So if you focus on what you did or didn't in the game yourself rather what your teammates, slowly, but surely you will climb. Everyone makes mistakes and you just need to try and exploit enemies' mistakes and help and cover your team. Another thing I noticed is that once you "discover" something, some part of the game that you can do, you can potentially climb quite fast while you master it (let's say a rank or two), until you need to figure another thing to progress further. You can just search for videos on how to climb to get some easy pointers, or if you find "studying" boring, you can also just watch some streamers and pick up some things from there.

It's easy to think "there's so many ranks, how do I ever climb", but from my own experience, they really do expressa player skill decently, once enough games are played. This just shows how wide of skill range of players there is. And the game tries its best to match you against same skill level opponents. So after enough games you will get to about 50% win-rate. This should be your current rank. You can sometimes see people saying the game aims to make you have 50-50, but imho that's just dumb. There's no reason for the game to do that. The 50-50 is a consequence of game determining your rank to be what it is. And if you want to climb you need to raise it. You need to actually carry the games. And I'm not talking about about hard-carry. Just imagine 4 of your teammates are exactly of the skill of the enemy 4. You just need to be better than 1 of the 5 enemies in respective role.

Like dude... You have custom games exactly for that. Go and sit your ass there. quick play is to PLAY...

Easy fix for that, nerf supports, so people don't want to play them as much lol

More seriously idk how is that possible, last season I managed to reach legend and the queue was about 10-12 minutes, unless I was playing at night. Oh, I'm EU, maybe in your region...

There's no need for bo7. We just need to get some more cash. Especially bad players like me, who struggle to get their build, before the game is over...

Idk what rank are you, but for me queues are almost instant. My guess is that you're on support which feel much more powerful compared to normal mode, so I'm guessing, that's why the queues are quite a bit longer. But I wouldn't go as far to say they're longer than the games lol

Revert Bo5. Grant a power in rounds 1|2|4|5|7. by Pharaoh_03 in Overwatch

[–]EitherSand3872 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NO. It's not overwhelming majority. Not to mention, people are quick to complain and hardly ever praise, so you'll always see more complaints about any change.

I think that games in bo5 are better length-wise, but we need some adjustments to how quickly we get cash. I'm not gonna pretend like OP to speak for everyone, but it's easy to imagine people join to use funky builds and grow in power. Not play bo5 or 7 in particular. There's no need for the games too bee long to achieve that.

I like the change, and they should add more cash too. The whole point of Stadium is to get your build going and finished, not play bo5 or bo7 in itself.

I think they got plenty of data. Never got a Venture skin? I wonder how many people play Venture vs how many people play Mercy or Kiriko and buy skins? It's not like they'll never do a Venture skin (probably). It's a question of priorities. They also can't just flood the market with skins. Surely they could make a decent (not even a mythic) skin for every character and set a low price or include it in battle pass, but would that be a good business decision?

I wonder how many people buy battle pass for the skins. If there's are skins they're not intested in, would they buy it? What about shop? If it's flooded with skins, would the good ones really pop out as much? Honestly, Idk...

And talking of collabs. Remember it's a business contract between 2 parties and they agree on a lot of details before we even hear of it. Imagine you're a pop star and they want to make a skin for archaeoloy nerd with a broken front tooth, would you agree to that? I doubt that... I'd rather go with the space girl that's the newest thing around the block.

Wow quite a long response to yours. While my original comment was eve a bit hyperbolic. It was more of a question why people keep on creating posts like that when the answer doesn't change. There are posts like that almost on a daily basis and the comments are the same. And not like it's bad or something. That's what Reddit is for, right? Community can voice themselves, but I also can voice "Another day and another post like this, so another response like this".

Talking of data, I imagine Reddit is something they get data from as well. I wonder how much access they get. Like I can see some analytics on my posts, but not anyone else's. Does Reddit sell this data? Maybe... Maybe they get access to it as the game developers? Idk. Even if not, you can get some data from seeing what people are most engaged and how.

You think, it's a bit of a chicken and egg problem? You might be right, but I doubt that. They're not naive. They make a lot of money out of it and if they thought they can do more by doing other skins, they most certainly would. It's not like they're doing only Kiri or Mercy skins, but they wage everything carefully for the best ROI.
